National Police Week is a time to honor the courageous men and women across this nation who have taken an oath to serve and protect their communities and to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

The Gulf Breeze Police Department proudly stands beside law enforcement agencies across the country this week in recognizing the dedication, sacrifice, and commitment of officers who put on the badge every single day knowing the risks that come with it.

We especially remember the fallen heroes whose names and legacies will never be forgotten. Their sacrifice serves as a lasting reminder of the true meaning of service.

To our officers, dispatchers, support staff, and law enforcement partners thank you for your professionalism, compassion, and unwavering commitment to keeping our community safe.

And to our community, thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and trust. It is an honor and privilege to serve the City of Gulf Breeze.

🐾🚔 OFFICIAL GBPD REPORT: EXTREME CUTENESS INCIDENT 🚔🐾

Earlier today, officers with the Gulf Breeze Police Department responded to a very serious situation involving 11 Golden Retriever puppies from Gulf Breeze Goldens…

After a thorough investigation, we can confirm:

1. All suspects were extremely fluffy
2. Multiple officers were overwhelmed by cuteness on scene
3. One puppy showed early promise after receiving informal radar training (speed enforcement skills pending 🐶📡)
4. Several belly rubs were administered on scene

No charges will be filed at this time… mostly because we were too busy debating who gets to adopt one 👀

Big thank you to Gulf Breeze Goldens for bringing the squad by and boosting morale in the best way possible. Days like this remind us why we love what we do (and why we now all want a K9 unit made up entirely of Golden Retrievers).

Also a big thank you to Pensacola Safety Warehouse for the awesome puppy swag!

Case Status: STILL VERY GOOD DOGS 🐶

Behind every emergency response is a calm, steady voice guiding the way.

This week, we recognize and celebrate our Police Telecommunicators—the first first responders. From answering life-saving calls to coordinating officers in the field, their professionalism, focus, and compassion make a difference every single day.

Thank you for being the voice people rely on in their most critical moments. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.

Top o’ the mornin’ to ya, Gulf Breeze! ☘️

Today’s the day for green shirts, shamrocks, and celebrating the luck of the Irish… but let’s be clear luck won’t save you from a DUI. 🚔

If your plans include a little too much green beer or Irish cheer:

🍀 Don’t rely on luck, rely on a designated driver
🍀 Call a rideshare (your pot of gold will thank you later)
🍀 Crash on a couch, not your car

Because the only thing you should be chasing tonight is a rainbow not explaining to an officer why you thought you could drive home.

We’ll be out making sure everyone gets home safe, so make good choices and keep the shenanigans smart. 😉

Stay safe, Gulf Breeze and may your St. Patrick’s Day be full of good times, not bad decisions! 🍀🚓

🌴☀️ SPRING BREAK CHECKLIST – Gulf Breeze Police Department ☀️🌴

Coming through Gulf Breeze to go enjoy the beach?

Make sure your checklist looks something like this:
✅ Sunscreen
✅ Beach towel
✅ Flip flops
✅ Good friends
✅ A designated driver

Things that should NOT be on your Spring Break checklist:
❌ DUI
❌ Underage possession of alcohol
❌ Reckless driving
❌ Meeting us on the side of the road with flashing lights

Because if those show up on your vacation itinerary, your Spring Break may also include:
🚓 Arrest
📄 Citations
🚗 Vehicle towing
⚖️ A court date

Officers will be conducting increased traffic enforcement throughout Spring Break with zero tolerance for DUI and underage alcohol possession.

And if your Spring Break adventure takes you over to Pensacola Beach, our friends at the Escambia County Sheriff's Office will be there…. and they aren’t putting up with any Spring Break shenanigans either.

Have fun. Enjoy the beach. Make good choices.
And remember… Uber is cheaper than bail.

⚠️ Gulf Breeze Police Department – Safety Reminder for Parents 👮🏻‍♂️ 🏍️

Parents, we want to share an important reminder about electric dirt bikes, often referred to as “e-motos.” These vehicles are becoming more common in neighborhoods, and many people mistakenly believe they are the same as e-bikes. They are not the same thing.

Electric dirt bikes often do not have pedals, have high-powered motors, and are designed strictly for off-road use. Because of this, they are not street legal under Florida law.

Operating an electric dirt bike or “e-moto” on public roads, bike lanes, or sidewalks can result in citations, fines, impoundment of the vehicle, and a mandatory court appearance.

Many parents purchase these bikes believing they are e-bikes especially when they are given as gift, but many of the models being sold today are actually electric dirt bikes, and the laws governing them are very different.

Parents are responsible for ensuring these vehicles are used legally and safely. Allowing a child to ride an electric dirt bike on streets or sidewalks can put them and others around them at serious risk.

E-Bike vs. Electric Dirt Bike (E-Moto)
✅ E-Bike
• Has pedals with electric assist
• Designed for roads, bike paths, and shared-use paths
• Typically lower speeds and requires less protective gear
• Less than 750 watts
• Can travel 28 mph or less depending on class
• Classified as a bicycle

🚫 Electric Dirt Bike / E-Moto
• Throttle-operated (no pedals)
• Higher power and higher speeds
• Built for off-road use only
• Requires full protective gear
• 750 watts or more
• Can reach speeds up to 70 mph
• Classified as a motor vehicle
➡️ Not legal on streets or sidewalks

Our goal is education and prevention. We would much rather have this conversation now than respond after someone is seriously injured.
If electric dirt bikes are operated illegally on public roads or sidewalks, enforcement action may be taken.

Please help us keep our community safe.

🚨 SCAM ALERT FROM THE GULF BREEZE POLICE DEPARTMENT 🚨

We hate to break it to you… but if you receive a phone call or text saying you’ve won millions of dollars and just need to send a few gift cards to claim it, it’s a scam.

Unfortunately, the same goes for anyone claiming you must immediately pay for an arrest warrant with gift cards. Law enforcement does not collect fines, fees, or warrants using Apple, Google, Target, or any other gift cards.

Let’s keep it simple:
• You didn’t win a random overseas lottery.
• The police will not call you demanding gift cards.
• No legitimate business or government agency asks for payment in gift cards.

If someone asks you to go buy gift cards and read the numbers over the phone, that’s your cue to hang up faster than you can say “Nice try.”

If you receive one of these calls or messages:
✔️ Hang up
✔️ Do not send money or gift cards
✔️ Report it to your local law enforcement

Scammers rely on panic and urgency. Take a moment, think it through, and when in doubt call us please and don’t send any money first.

Stay Safe, Gulf Breeze.

🚴‍♂️ E-Mobility & Multi-Use Pathway Reminder 🛴
The City of Gulf Breeze Police Department would like to share our E-Mobility & Multi-Use Pathway pamphlet as a friendly reminder to residents and visitors about the rules and safety guidelines for using our pathways.

With the continued growth of e-bikes, scooters, and other electric mobility devices in our community, it’s important that everyone understands how to safely and responsibly share these spaces. Our multi-use pathways are designed for pedestrians, cyclists, and e-mobility users alike and safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Please take a moment to review the pamphlet and:
✔️ Follow posted speed limits
✔️ Yield to pedestrians
✔️ Stay alert and avoid distractions
✔️ Wear proper safety equipment
✔️ Be courteous to others
By working together, we can keep our pathways safe, enjoyable, and accessible for everyone.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Gulf Breeze Police Department.

Let’s continue keeping Gulf Breeze safe!
