📢 The Guin Police Department is proud to announce the addition of K-9 Sonic to our Police Force.
👮🏼‍♀️His handler is Corporal Jason Rhudy and both have been through several weeks of training and is now nationally certified. Officer Sonic is certified in locating illegal drugs as well as tracking and recovery.
👏🏻 The Guin Police Department would like to thank the many individual citizens along with multiple businesses for their donations to the Department to acquire Sonic.
👏🏻 We would also like to thank the Mayor and City Council for their full support of the Police Departments effort in making our city a safer place for all our fine citizens and visitors alike.

This is Gustavs! He is a college student from Europe, Latvia and doing his summer internship with Southwestern Advantage here in Guin selling educational resources door to door to pay his way through school. He just checked in with the Guin City Hall and Guin Police Department and has proper identification available. He drives a grey Nissan Rogue with Maryland plates and has a slight accent, but it’s understandable. Don’t be alarmed, he is very friendly. If you get a knock on the door from him, he is sound and legit.

🚌🚓STOP for the bus, so you don’t get stopped by us! 🚌🚓

In Alabama, the law (32A-5A-154) requires you to stop when the bus’s red lights, and stop sign are activated.

🛑Two-Lane Roads
•RULE: Traffic in both directions must stop.

*Details: Drivers approaching from the front or following behind must come to a complete stop and remain stationary until the bus moves or retracts its stop arm.

🛑 Multi-Lane Undivided Roads
•RULE: All lanes of traffic must stop.

*Details: This rule applies to four-lane roads, six-lane roads, and roads with a center turning lane. A center turning lane is not considered a physical barrier, meaning oncoming traffic is still required to stop.

🛑Divided Highways
• RULE: Only traffic following the bus must stop.

*Details: Drivers traveling in the opposite direction on a highway separated by a •physical barrier•(such as a concrete wall, guardrail, or grass median) are not required to stop, though they should proceed with caution.
