On Saturday, January 24, 2026, at approximately 3:22 p.m., the Guilford Fire Department’s 911 Telecommunications Center received a report from the occupant of 28 Meadow Street stating that there was a fire on the exterior of her house. The Guilford Fire Department was then dispatched at 3:22 p.m. for a structure fire response.

Upon arrival, Guilford Fire Department crews encountered smoke from the first floor and an active fire on the exterior of the residence. Firefighters immediately deployed one hose line and were able to extinguish the fire and bring the fire under control in ten minutes.

Thanks to the quick and coordinated actions of responding crews, firefighters were able to contain the fire to the exterior of the home.

Mutual aid was provided by the Madison Fire Department, the North Madison Fire Department and the Branford Fire Department.

No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Guilford Fire Department Fire Marshal’s office.
