Bonding Beyond Boundaries is coming to Killingworth! 💙

On September 25 at 6:00 PM, join us at The Congregational Church in Killingworth, UCC for a workshop designed for adults ages 60–75 who are looking to build new friendships, strengthen their sense of community, and explore meaningful connections at any age.

Facilitated by Emma Dufresne, MSW, the workshop will explore community building, meaningful relationships, personal growth, and community resources. Refreshments will be provided.

Thank you so much to the Guilford Foundation for your continued support for our work! The Board of Directors, led by Chair Megan Linske and our entire staff are truly honored to be the recipient of such an impactful grant.

Through Jen Fournier's ongoing Coffees, Conversation & Connection series with individual stakeholders we have learned so much about community needs and how they have shifted. Director of Programs, Melissa George's analysis of programs and participant surveys provided the groundwork for mapping out an expansion of community support which will be launching this fall. Feedback from donors is allowing us to create fundraising events that are more accessible and family friendly.

Simply put, taking time to learn about how community needs have shifted over the years, Women & Family Life Center is poised to meet the challenges facing our community now and into the future.

When life takes an unexpected turn, knowing where to go for help can make all the difference.

Women & Family Life Center received our largest 2026 Community Impact Grant of $7,000, supporting its work with women and families facing difficult transitions, from divorce and job loss to housing concerns, abuse, mental health challenges, and more. Through its Guided Assistance Program (GAP), individuals receive one-on-one guidance to identify resources, understand their options, and determine their next steps.

As W&FLC moves into a new chapter under Executive Director Jen Fournier, we are proud to support an organization that has been helping people find stability, connection, and a way forward for more than 30 years.

They are an invaluable community resource.

Today we’re celebrating Kayleigh! 🎉

Kayleigh is our Director of HR and Community Engagement, and while she’s often busy making connections, supporting the team, and helping things happen behind the scenes, birthdays are a pretty good excuse to put the focus on her for a change.

We hope today brings plenty of celebrating, lots of good things, and a little extra appreciation for everything she brings to W&FLC. ✨

Today, we’re kicking off Foundation Fridays, a new series celebrating the community partners whose support strengthens Women & Family Life Center and the work we do every day.

We’re starting with the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, a longtime supporter of WFLC.

Their general operating support gives us something incredibly valuable: flexibility. It helps WFLC respond to changing community needs, sustain the people and resources behind our work, and continue being a place women and families can turn when they aren’t sure what comes next.

This year, that partnership is growing through a new multi-year funding commitment, providing greater stability as we plan for the future. The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven has also supported WFLC through event sponsorships, showing up for our organization in many ways.

We’re incredibly grateful for their continued belief in our work and investment in the communities we serve.

A quick schedule update for Labor Day weekend!

Women & Family Life Center will close early at 12:00 PM on Friday, September 4 and will be closed Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day.

We’ll reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, September 8.

Women & Family Life Center is grateful to be the beneficiary of Spavia Cares at Spavia Guilford. Throughout September, 10% of facial services will be donated to WFLC.

A little heads-up for our community: our office will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, August 20, while the W&FLC team spends the day together for our staff retreat. 💚

We’re stepping away from our usual desks, but not from the work.

As our team grows and we look toward the year ahead, we’re setting aside some intentional time to connect, get to know one another better, talk about our goals, and strengthen how we work together.

There’s a lot taking shape at W&FLC, including the continued evolution of GAP, and we know that the work we do for our community is stronger when the team behind it feels connected, supported, and moving in the same direction.

We’ll be back Friday for regular hours, a little more connected and ready for what’s ahead. Thank you for giving us the space to invest in the people behind the work. ✨
