Broom Creek HMA opens on 1 September. Hunters can sign in to hunt the day before they plan to hunt, as well as sign in the same day they plan to hunt. Hunter sign in opens on 31 August for a 1 September hunt date.

Here are some reminders:
1. If you sign in and are unable to hunt the day that you signed in for, please let us know by replying to your confirmation email, so your space can be used by another hunter.
2. You must complete a separate sign in for each date you plan to hunt.
3. The hunter sign in is open from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm every day starting 31 August.
4. There are no longer confirmation numbers given, the confirmation email that you receive is the confirmation (you may need to check your junk mail). Please always keep a copy of this on you when you are on the Broom Creek HMA (electronic or printed).

Staff Sgt. Devin Kusekoski | C Battery, 1st Battalion, 147th Field Artillery Regiment

🎯 Individual excellence builds collective readiness.

South Dakota National Guard competitors demonstrated the results of disciplined training during the 2026 Marksmanship Advisory Council Region 6 competition at Camp Guernsey Joint Training Center, Wyoming.

(pictured center right) Staff Sgt. Kusekoski, C Battery, 1st Battalion, 147th Field Artillery Regiment, finished 13th overall and fifth in individual pistol competition.

Kusekoski also placed fifth in Pistol Barricade, fourth in Pistol CQB, fifth in Pistol Anti-Body Armor and fourth in Rifle Reflexive Fire.

Competitive marksmanship challenges service members to continuously refine their skills, perform under pressure and return that experience to their formations.

Develop the individual. Strengthen the team. Build the force.
