🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT – ROUTE 460 (RIVERSIDE DRIVE), GRUNDY 🚧
Motorists are advised to be alert for a traffic switch along Route 460 (Riverside Drive) in Grundy due to ongoing Route 460/121 Poplar Creek Phase B construction. Approximately 1.1 miles west of the Route 460/Route 83 (Riverside Drive/Edgewater Drive) intersection.

Expected Start Date: March 31
Alternate date due to weather: April 1
Motorist should be alert to traffic pattern changes, flaggers controlling traffic for shoulder work prior to the switch, and ongoing construction including a retaining wall and the new Route 460/121 bridge.

Please use caution, follow posted signs, and obey flaggers when traveling through the area. Your patience and cooperation help keep everyone safe!

📚👮‍♂️ Read Across America! 🇺🇸

Today, Officer Dale had the opportunity to visit the 4th grade class at Riverview Elementary School to celebrate Read Across America. Officer Dale spent time reading with students and encouraging them to develop a love for books and learning. Programs like this help strengthen the relationship between our officers and the young people in our community while promoting the importance of literacy and education. The Grundy Police Department would like to thank the staff and students at Riverview Elementary for the warm welcome. We are always proud to support our schools and invest in the future of our community.

🚧 Road Closure Notice – Walnut Street 🚧

Beginning Monday, March 2, 2026, Walnut Street will be closed from the New House Branch intersection to 1432 Walnut Street (in front of the Masonic Lodge). The closure will remain in effect until VDOT completes work to replace culverts under the roadway.
🔹 Residents in the 1400 and 1500 blocks of Walnut Street must enter and exit via Edgewater Drive near Mountain Mission School.
🔹 Access to businesses and residences near the courthouse will remain available through the Main Street intersection or the New House Branch intersection.
Please use alternate routes and use caution when traveling in this area. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as this important infrastructure work is completed.
