Public Notice:
The Grundy Center Water Department will begin flushing fire hydrants on Monday, October 13, 2025. This will begin at 8 a.m. and continue until 4:00 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday. We will be starting on the west side of the city and working from North to South continuing until all hydrants are flushed.

Residents are urged to wash their clothes before 9 a.m. or after 8 p.m. while the flushing is occurring in their neighborhood to avoid possible discoloring of laundry.

Public Notice: The Grundy Center City Council approved open burning from 6am to 6pm, Mondays through Saturdays and 12noon to 6pm on Sundays, beginning Monday, October 13, 2025 through Sunday November 30, 2025.
We ask that burning only be done when wind speeds are 10mph or less.
Open fires are intended for yard and garden cleanings only. This does not include any other household debris. NO burning will be allowed in the streets. Fires must be attended at all times. Notice is subject to change by Order of the Fire Chief.
