The 7th Infantry Division Best Squad Competition isn't just a test of physical endurance and tactical lethality—it’s a test of mental sharpness.

Away from the ranges and the ruck marches, competitors stepped inside the boardroom to face the Command Sergeant Major's competitive board. Standing before a panel of senior enlisted leaders, these Soldiers were questioned on military doctrine, leadership scenarios, and history while maintaining absolute poise.

Day two of the 7th Infantry Division (Multi-Domain Command - Pacific) Best Squad Competition!

Today our Soldiers took to the ranges here on Joint Base Lewis-McChord to prove their lethality across multiple weapon systems.

The day’s challenges began with a 12-mile ruck march. Halfway through the movement, squads stopped to execute a rigorous precision marksmanship qualification course using the MK22 Advanced Sniper Rifle. The event continued with an M17 service pistol stress shoot, which required competitors to sprint with water canisters to elevate their heart rates before engaging targets. The multi-weapon challenge concluded with a modified M4 carbine qualification before the Soldiers resumed and completed the remainder of the ruck march.

Which squad do you think is taking home the title this year? Drop your predictions below!

The night iteration of the Division Best Squad Competition consisted of Soldiers from across the Division (Multi-Domain Command - Pacific) conducting evaluation lanes at night, consisting of vehicle identification, weapon disassembly and reassembly, and a memory test.

The three-day competition measures Soldiers' individual and collective abilities to adapt to and overcome challenging scenarios that test their mental and physical endurance, technical and tactical proficiency, and basic warrior tasks and drills.
