The Confluence Area pollinator garden looks a little bare these days, but if you take a closer look, we've planted a lot of small native plants. We have to water them until they get established and do our best to keep critters from digging them out. A few dashes of Pinesol on scattered sticks seems to keep the skunks away - they uproot young plants while digging in loose soil for grubs and worms. The plants will grow some this year but it's in their second year that they usually fill out.

The Virginia bluebells are in peak bloom along the Bluebell Trail so get out and see them while you can. The trail is muddy in spots so wear your boots. Unfortunately, because of recent floods a lot of trash has washed in. If you want to bring a small trash bag and pick up some of it while hiking, we'd be most thankful! When you've finished your walk, just set the trash bag along the paved greenway trail and we'll take it from there.

Nature often surprises us! In this case (probably due to recent very warm weather) the Virginia bluebells along the Bluebell Trail have started blooming. Ths is a good 10-14 days ahead of the usual time. Get out and enjoy them while you can! Last weeks flood waters have receded but the trail is muddy and slick in a lot of places and may flood again depending on how much rain we get this week.
