The Tuolumne River is located only 30 minutes west of the Yosemite National Park, nearest to the small town of Groveland, CA. In September 1984, the Tuolumne River was added to the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System which protects river corridors that possess exceptional scenic, recreational, fishery and wildlife values. The preservation of these rivers allows the public to enjoy the benefits

of these true Wild and Scenic Rivers. The Tuolumne River is well known for its incredible Class IV-IV+ rapids which whitewater rafting enthusiasts far and wide come to experience. Whitewater Rafting Permits are required for private / non-commercial and commercial whitewater rafting outfitters on the Main Tuolumne.
