ndustry first perfume and lumber then citrus and tourism.Our continued success is in large part due to our perfect location. Groveland is located in sunny Central Florida at the crossroads of State Road 50, State Road 19, and State Road 33, located only a few minutes from the Florida Turnpike. Groveland is conveniently located only 9 miles from South Lake Hospital, the National Training Center, and the Special Olympics Florida year round training facility.Lake-Sumter Community College is only 11 short miles away offering University of Central Florida and Saint Leo University extended campuses. We have a current population of over 21,000 and are projected to steadily grow well into the next decade. Our community has grown rapidly over the last few years with many of the new residents coming from the Metro Orlando area.These new citizens move here to provide their families with a more secure and sedate way of life.Groveland prides itself on being a city where children can safely ride their bikes throughout the neighborhood without causing their parents constant worry, a place where your neighbor shares more with you than just a space on a street block. We may be a developing community, but Groveland still maintains that old southern small town appeal.

✨ Moment of Charm: Local Hero Saves Endangered Parrot ✨🦜

A Groveland family is celebrating an amazing act of kindness after their rare and endangered parrot, Alistarr, escaped and spent 24 hours high in the trees, risking attacks from hawks and kites.

Concerned they might lose their beloved pet, they reached out to Alex Bass of Apex Solutions Tree Service for help.

Alex and his apprentice spent over five hours helping rescue Alistarr. High in a 100-foot oak tree, Alex patiently earned the bird’s trust until Alistarr finally stepped up, allowing a safe and emotional reunion with his family.

💚 In recognition of his incredible compassion and bravery, Alex was honored by City Council during this month’s meeting.

The family, longtime Groveland residents, says they truly believed they had lost Alistarr forever and are beyond grateful for Alex’s selfless act.

👏 Please join us in recognizing Alex Bass for going above and beyond to make a difference.

Cool off this summer at Groveland Wacky Wednesday Water Day starting Wednesday, June 3, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Cherry Lake Park! 🥽

This free family event features inflatable water slides, live zoo animals including mammals, birds and reptiles, Icee-licious treats, games, and plenty of summer fun for all ages. Bring the family and enjoy a different park location each week while making memories with the community.
