**Building Healthier Families Through Nutrition Education**
Washington/Clarke County EFNEP was excited to partner with Friends of Alpha Women's Resource Center in Jackson, Alabama to offer our first Todayโs Mom nutrition education series. This six-week program is designed to support moms and moms-to-be by providing practical nutrition knowledge, meal planning skills, and confidence to make healthy choices for themselves and their families.
We recently completed our first series, and we are so proud of our participant, Emily, for completing the program and taking steps toward creating healthier habits for herself and her growing family.
Emily shared how this experience impacted her:
"Healthy eating had always been something I wanted to improve, however, finding out I was pregnant gave me the extra motivation I needed to start making intentional choices for both my health and my baby's. The challenge was that my life was always on the go, so I often grabbed whatever was quick without thinking much about the nutritional value."
Through Todayโs Mom, Emily learned that healthy eating does not have to be complicated or time-consuming. She gained practical skills to prepare simple, nutritious meals that fit her busy lifestyle and learned how to make healthier choices even on the busiest days.
"The nutrition class completely changed the way I think about food. Instead of simply telling me what healthy foods to eat, the class taught me how to turn those foods into simple, realistic meals that fit my busy lifestyle and my familyโs needs."
We are thankful for the opportunity to partner with Alpha Womenโs Resource Center and provide programs that help families build healthier futures. Congratulations, Emily, on completing Todayโs Mom, and thank you for sharing your story!
