We did it!!!!!

Congrats to all of us in Grosse Pointe Park and to my dear friend Brent Dreaver for GPP City Council.

We are both so thankful to have the opportunity to serve and represent all of our neighbors in Grosse Pointe Park!

More to come tomorrow. I’m going to bed. . . . 💤

Appreciation post for all the volunteers, but especially this one!

Many of us know Trustee Valarie St. John for her work on the School Board. I’m lucky to also know her as my friend and today, one of the many amazing volunteers and supporters for the campaign.

Looking forward to joining her in the ranks of local elected officials after today.

Make sure to come down to Windmill Pointe Park to say hello and most importantly, vote!

It’s Election Day!

Took care of the most important self-care matters this morning by getting a quick refresh from Janet, my hair stylist, and then a quick caffeine boost from Jason, my favorite barista at Lucky Detroit.

For all GPP voters, Jason is doing $1 off any drink this morning. Just swing by Lucky Detroit at the corner of Kercheval and Wayburn, and tell him you voted.

Thank you for voting!!

Key members of the campaign team planted the likely last sign of this campaign season. Now taking a well deserved break!

With the election on Tuesday, all the campaigning is basically complete. Candidate forums and profiles completed, doors have been knocked, letters have been written, campaign literature mailed, emails sent, countless phone calls have been made, meet and greets attended, the list goes on.

The success that I’m confident we’ll experience on Tuesday would not be possible without the support of so many of our / my neighbors here in GPP. Many who have contributed their time, talent, treasure, and opened their homes. Thousands more who have or will be giving the one thing that truly matters on Tuesday: their vote. 🗳️

This success would definitely not be possible without the support of my family. Huge shout out to my wife and girls!

Looking forward to seeing many of my neighbors in-person on Tuesday. These key members of my campaign team and others will be handing out some hot chocolate and cider during the day on Tuesday, so please say hello!!

Had the honor of attending the graduation ceremony for Olga and her classmates of the 73rd class from the Firefighter Academy.

The keynote speaker, recently retired Chief from Allen Park, noted the most important attribute for firefighters is their compassion.

Anyone who has had the pleasure of interacting with Olga, be it as her neighbor in Grosse Pointe Park, or through her service to our community as a member of our Public Safety Department, knows that compassion is one of the many attributes that Olga demonstrates daily.

Thank you, Olga, for your unwavering compassion and commitment to the Grosse Pointe Park community!

I may not have the “trick” (or tricks) we see as a community a week before the election, but definitely have the “treat” part of Halloween locked down!

Happy Halloween!! 👻 🎃

Notice for all that the October 24 Planning Commission Meeting has the Unfinished Business agenda item of: 𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞.

As part of the discussion during this portion of the meeting, the Transitional District will be discussed. More probable than not that the public comment portion of the meeting will understandably be focused on the Transitional District.

Important to note that the Transitional District and other topics will be a discussion only. Planning Commission will be conducting their review, looking at existing language, and providing further direction to McKenna.

As this process continues in this Planning Commission meeting and then beyond, it remains critically important that community voices are heard. I look forward to hearing from many of our neighbors at this meeting and future meetings.

Below is a visual summary of the currently outlined Transitional District. Comments or questions, please feel free to leave a reply or reach out directly.

Note: There are additional properties on Harvard and then Cadieux that are also labeled. See comments for additional information.

Can contact the Planning Commission directly: 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠@𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤.𝐨𝐫𝐠
