Today marks the 82nd anniversary of the Allied invasion landings of D-Day in Normandy, France. We, the staff of the Great Lakes National Cemetery wish to remember all those lost in these battles, many of whom are buried at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in Colleville-sur-Mer, France. Sadly, many of the 156,115 Veterans who participated in D-Day have passed on. Records show between 300-2000 only survive. This past year, one of our staff members was able to visit the cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, France and was able to see the incredible beauty and respect given to the gravesites there. The incredible stories of these, and all Veterans should not be lost to time. Please use the Veteran's legacy memorial program to help keep their stories alive. It's simple to use, but the effect is timeless.

What a great day for a parade. Attending also was our Past Commander Dale Abbuhl who came all the way up from Florida to be in our parade. Thanks Dale!!
