**UPDATE** The train has been moved and the crossings are open as of 10:20 p.m.

We were notified by Union Pacific Railroad of a train derailment just outside the city limits of Groesbeck. As a result of the derailment, all railroad crossings within the city limits are blocked by the stationary rail cars for an indefinite amount of time.

All motorists are instructed to utilize the Yeagua Street (State Highway 164) underpass until the crossings are cleared.

We will update as more information is provided.

NOTICE: COUNTY BURN BAN IN EFFECT

The County has officially implemented a Burn Ban, effective immediately and remaining in place until further notice.

Due to ongoing dry conditions and elevated fire risk, all outdoor burning is prohibited. This includes the burning of brush, debris, trash, and any other open outdoor fires. Approved enclosed cooking devices may still be used in accordance with local regulations.

These precautions are necessary to reduce the risk of wildfire and protect our community, property, and emergency personnel.

We appreciate the public’s cooperation. If you observe smoke or an unauthorized fire, please contact 9-1-1 immediately.

Your continued support helps keep our county safe.
