Grizzly Flats Community Services District

Grizzly Flats Community Services District Welcome to the GFCSD page. We are the water purveyor for the community of Grizzly Flats. The community of Grizzly Flats was founded in the 1850’s.

Grizzly Flats Community Services District is responsible for providing treated water for domestic use and fire protection to the residents within its service area. A boundary map can be found at the bottom of our website's home page. Logging and mining supported a community of over 2000 people for many years. In 1966 Grizzly Park Water Company was formed to provide water to the newly developed “Grizzly Park” subdivision. On October 27, 1987, the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors created Grizzly Flats Community Services District with Resolution 387-87. GFCSD acquired the water rights and facilities from the Water Company. Our service area includes 1222 parcels of land (approx. 1,115 acres) with 621 meter connections, 150 fire hydrants and two raw water ponds (Grizzly Pond located on Parkside Dr. and Grizzly Reservoir). We serve a population of 1089 (2010 census) plus an elementary school, a post office, a church, a volunteer fire station and a U.S. Forest Service Station.

Our 2025 Consumer Confidence Report is now available online using the following link:

https://grizzlyflatscsd.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/2025_CCR_-_Final_2_-_2026-06-291.pdf

The Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) is an annual water quality report issued by Grizzly Flats Community Services District as required by the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). The purpose of the CCR is to inform you of the quality of your drinking water.

In previous years, GFCSD has mailed its customers a printed copy of the CCR. State Water Resources Control Board has expanded its interpretation of the SDWA to allow for electronic delivery of the report. This allows GFCSD to reduce paper consumption and minimize printing costs.
