Starting Monday, the Iowa DOT will move sanitary sewer repair work north to the 5th Avenue intersection, closing the intersection to 5th Avenue traffic from the east. The current closure at 3rd Avenue will be reopened to traffic when the 5th Avenue closure begins.

The repair at 5th Avenue will be the last sanitary manhole repair in the center lanes of Highway 146. Once this is complete, construction will shift to outside lane closures for water main work, storm intake replacements, sidewalk improvements, and street light installation..

Thank you for your patience as this project continues. Please use caution in the work zone and follow posted traffic control signs.

The Iowa DOT has announce that sanitary sewer point repairs and manhole work along Highway 146 will continue moving north this week.

As work advances, the current two-way traffic configuration will move one block north to accommodate repairs in the area of the 3rd Avenue intersection. The repairs include both a manhole and sewer point repair located on the east side of the intersection. During this phase of construction both northbound and southbound traffic on Highway 146 will continue to share the west two lanes in a head-to-head configuration and 3rd Avenue will be closed to traffic approaching from the east.

The updated traffic configuration is expected to remain in place for approximately one week. Drivers are encourage to slow down, use caution in the work zone, follow posted signage, and allow additional travel time while traveling through the area.
