Looking for something fun for your middle school student this summer? The City of Griffin hosts multiple free programs that go behind the scenes to showcase the wide range of government functions, services, activities, and challenges, and how to get more involved. Registration opens on Monday, May 4th.
🏆Citizens' Government Academy Junior - Campers will go behind the scenes with all departments that make up the City of Griffin. Campers will enjoy hands-on activities, facility tours, and fun experiences from Monday, June 8, 2026, through Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 8:30am to 3pm daily. 🚓 Griffin Police Department Youth Camp - Campers will learn (Nerf) gun safety, effective driving (with golf carts), SWAT, and more from Monday, June 15, 2026, through Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 8:30am to 3pm. 🚒 Camp Fire with Griffin Fire Rescue - Campers will get a firsthand experience of the life of a firefighter while learning fire safety, how to use equipment, and the importance of the job from Monday, June 22, 2026, through Friday, June 26, 2026, from 8:30am to 3pm. Lunch, snacks, and drinks will be provided. To register, visit the Fire Administrative Headquarters at 1420 Ellis Road.
