Please join us in welcoming Officer Trevor Bagwell to the Griffin Police Department.

Officer Bagwell was officially sworn in today and brings two years of law enforcement experience from the State of Alabama. During the ceremony, he was proudly pinned by his mother, who has faithfully served the City of Griffin for the past 20 years.

“It was an honor to pin a badge on my son to police at the same organization that I have represented and served as a public servant for 20 years,” she shared during the ceremony.

We are excited to have Officer Bagwell join the Griffin Police Department family and look forward to his service to the Griffin community.

Last Friday, the City of Griffin Public Safety Departments were honored to come together with members of our community during Peace Officers Memorial Day and National Police Week to remember Officer Kevin Jordan and Sgt. Todd Thomas.

As part of the ceremony, a Dogwood tree was planted at the Chappell Street Community Green Space in their memory, serving as a lasting symbol of honor, sacrifice, and the continued impact both heroes have on our community.

We are grateful to everyone who attended and helped make this meaningful event possible. Moments like these remind us of the importance of remembering those who gave their lives in service to others and continuing to support the men and women who protect our community each day.

Georgia Cities Week Spotlight: Meet Kyle

As we continue celebrating Georgia Cities Week and the theme “Love Your City,” we are proud to recognize those who feel a true calling to serve.

Lieutenant Kyle Seigler with Griffin Fire-Rescue knows firsthand what it means to find your purpose. After stepping away to pursue a different career path, he quickly realized the fire service was where he belonged and decided to return. Today, with nearly eight years of service, he continues to answer that call.

In his role, Kyle leads a team of firefighters, helping them grow and succeed so they can provide the highest level of service to the Griffin community. His leadership is rooted in teamwork, knowing that when his crew is strong, the entire community benefits. Griffin has always been a big part of Kyle’s life. Having gone to school here and with family and friends in the area, serving the Griffin-Spalding community is personal.

For Kyle, loving your city means caring deeply about the people, the homes, the businesses, and everything that makes Griffin what it is. It’s a commitment to serve, protect, and be there when it matters most.
