Spalding Samaritans is a local non-profit that seeks to help Spalding County residents who have emergency utility needs and who have not been assisted by us in the past 13 months. Applications for assistance are received on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, 12:30-2:00 pm, in the Community Classroom of Hope Health/Southside Medical. Door faces Slaton Avenue, next to Five Loaves and Two Fish food pantry. Persons seeking assistance must bring their current utility bill and a photo ID.

Father, we pray for the many who are trapped by growing burdens of debt, who see no way out, and who despair for their future:
give them the courage to tackle the problems they face,
clarity in making decisions which will turn their situation around, and faith that, as they cry to you in their trouble,
you will deliver them from their distress;

Not surprisingly, the number of folks requesting utility assistance is up. Thank you to all our faithful volunteers; this ministry could not function without you! If there are others of you who have a couple of free hours on the first and third Tuesdays, come join us. We will teach you all you need to know.
