At 12:55pm Mount Pleasant Firefighters responded to provide mutual aid to the City of Gretna Fire Rescue Department for a reported fully involved vehicle fire on Fifth Street.

Upon arrival personnel found a pickup truck parked in the front yard of a home with no fire or smoke showing. Further investigation revealed that the fire may have been electrical in nature. Quick response by the vehicle owner to extinguish the fire prior to arrival of the fire departments preventing further damage to the vehicle.

Today at 18:12, Gretna Fire Rescue was dispatched to I-10 MM 174 WB. Upon arrival personnel found single vehicle crash. A mini-van lost control in the storms made contact with the guard rail and was facing east in the west bound lanes.

These driver was asked by Gadsden County Emergency Services and transported to an area hospital. This was a joint response with Midway Fire And Rescue Service.

At 12:44 Gretna Fire Rescue along with Mt. Pleasant, FL Volunteer Fire Department, City of Chattahoochee Fire Department, and Sycamore Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a wildfire in the area of Hardaway Hwy, Hardaway Hwy 2 and Cochran Rd. The fire was approximately 70 acres +/-.

A huge shout out to the Florida Forest Service there ground and air assets for a job well done. Additional support was provided by the State Division of Emergency Management, Gadsden County Sheriff's Office - Morris A. Young, Gadsden County Emergency Management and Gadsden County Emergency Services.

The fire is currently 100% contained.

At 8:18pm Mount Pleasant Firefighters were dispatched to provide mutual aid to the City of Gretna Fire Rescue Department for a residential structure fire on Park Street in Gretna.

Upon arrival personnel found a well involved mobile home. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, but not before the home was destroyed by the fire. This was a joint response with Robertsville Volunteer Fire Department

At 12:16pm Mt Pleasant Firefighters were dispatched to provide mutual aid to the Wetumpka Volunteer Fire Dept for a reported wildfire 6800 block of Hosford Highway.

The request was for our department to supply a brush truck to assist numerous departments that were already on scene. Personnel assisted with providing notice to local residents of the incident and mopping up around areas plowed by the Florida Forest Service.

This was a joint response with the City of Gretna Fire Rescue Department and the Town of Greensboro Fire Department.

At 3:10pm Mt Pleasant Firefighters were dispatched to a reported grass fire along the 1400 block of Mount Pleasant Road. This was a joint response with the City of Gretna Fire Rescue Department .

Upon arrival personnel found a small grass fire threatening a couple of structures. Firefighters and residents were able to quickly extinguish the fire and saving 3 structures on the property. The fire was caused by the occupant of the home burning trash. This is a reminder that we are under a burn ban and it is illegal to burn. So please do not burn.
