Meeting night and training last night. We ran a scenario of a firefighter collapsing after heavy physical exertion. This involves rapidly beginning CPR and removing the firefighters bunker gear.

As we get into this fall season we are asking farmers to please have a disk hooked to a tractor, ready to go. In the dry and windy conditions we typically experience in the fall fires can grow and spread rapidly. Tractors and disks can be a very important tool in helping us contain these fires.

We are going to suspend burn permits until further notice. This ban will last until the harvest season ends and conditions are fit to burn again.

Heads up to those in our fire district. We are looking at suspending burn permits soon with harvest season starting in the area. This could be as early as this weekend. Once we suspend them we will not begin issuing them again until conditions are fit. Thank you for your understanding as we try to limit fire danger in the area.
