- Flash Flood Warning for... Aransas County in south central Texas... Central Refugio County in south central Texas... Northeastern San Patricio County in south central Texas... Southern Victoria County in south central Texas... Southwestern Calhoun County in south Texas...
- Until 300 PM CDT.
- At 1155 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Attention:

Pumping or discharging storm water into a sanitary sewer cleanout is illegal and strictly prohibited.

Storm water must be disposed of properly on the surface or routed into a designated storm sewer system.

Why You Cannot Pump Storm Water Into a CleanoutSystem Overload:

- Cleanouts lead directly to the sanitary sewer and wastewater treatment plants. Pumping heavy volumes of rain or storm water into them can overwhelm the system, causing raw sewage to back up into homes or overflow into streets and waterways.

- Illicit Discharge Regulations: Under the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) rules and Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permits, discharging anything other than 100% storm water into the storm drain, or pumping non-wastewater into the sanitary sewer, violates state and local water quality codes.

Requirements for reporting unauthorized wastewater discharges and overflows from sanitary sewers.

ONCE A COP

Once the badge goes on, it never comes off, whether they can see it, or not. It fuses to the soul through adversity, fear and adrenaline and no one who has ever worn it with pride, integrity and guts, can ever sleep through the 'call of the wild' that wafts through bedroom windows in the deep of the night.

When Cops Retire

When a good cop leaves the 'job' and retires to a better life, many are jealous, some are pleased and yet others, who may have already retired, wonder. We wonder if he knows what he is leaving behind, because we already know. We know, for example, that after a lifetime of camaraderie that few experience, it will remain as a longing for those past times. We know in the law enforcement life there is a fellowship which lasts long after the uniforms are hung up in the back of the closet . We know even if he throws them away, they will be on him with every step and breath that remains in his life. We also know how the very bearing of the man speaks of what he was and in his heart still is..
These are the burdens of the job. You will still look at people suspiciously, still see what others do not see or choose to ignore and always will look at the rest of the law enforcement world with a respect for what they do; only grown in a lifetime of knowing. Never think for one moment you are escaping from that life. You are only escaping the 'job' and merely being allowed to leave 'active' duty.

So what I wish for you is that whenever you ease into retirement, in your heart you never forget for one moment that 'Blessed are the Peacemakers for they shall be called children of God,' and you are still a member of the greatest fraternity the world has ever known.

INCREASED REWARD: The Texas Rangers need help identifying a woman whose remains were found on a ranch in Refugio Co. in 1992. She was shot death, and her body was left at the location about 1-3 years before being discovered.

Based off forensic examinations, investigators believe the woman to be:
