Good morning, Greers Ferry!

If you notice several law enforcement vehicles from different agencies parked around Greers Ferry City Hall this week, there is no need for concern.

The Greers Ferry Police Department and Greers Ferry Dive Team are proud to be hosting an Underwater Criminal Investigation Class this week. Law enforcement and public safety personnel from multiple agencies will be in our community participating in specialized training involving underwater crime scene investigation, evidence recovery, and investigative techniques.

You may see an increased presence of law enforcement vehicles and personnel around City Hall and other training locations throughout the week. This is training only and is not related to an emergency or active incident.

We are excited to welcome our fellow public safety professionals to Greers Ferry and appreciate our community’s continued support!

As we start another week, please remember to SLOW DOWN in our school zone. The Greers Ferry Police Department will be out and strictly enforcing school-zone speed limits.

Our goal is simple: we want our children, school staff, parents, and citizens to get where they’re going on time and, most importantly, safely.

Please give yourself a few extra minutes, stay alert, and watch for children and increased traffic around the school.

Good morning, Greers Ferry.

After much consideration, I will be contacting Flock Camera Systems, suspending services, and starting the process of having the cameras removed from the city.

This decision was not made lightly. As Chief of Police, I believe the safety of our community must always be balanced with the privacy, trust, and concerns of the citizens we serve.

I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to share their thoughts and concerns. Our Police Department belongs to this community, and your voice matters.

We will continue working every day to keep Greers Ferry safe while maintaining the transparency and accountability our citizens deserve.

Good morning, Greers Ferry!

I hope everyone has a wonderful and productive week ahead.

This is a friendly reminder that school starts back this Thursday, August 13, 2026. As students, parents, and school buses return to the roads, please allow yourself a little extra travel time and be patient, as traffic may be heavier than normal.

The Greers Ferry Police Department will have an increased presence around our schools, and our officers will be strictly enforcing speed limits in all school zones. Our goal is simple: to keep our children, parents, school staff, and everyone traveling through our community safe.

Please slow down, eliminate distractions, watch for children crossing the street, and always obey school zone traffic laws.

Thank you for helping us make the start of this school year a safe one for everyone.
