🎥 Lights! Camera! Action! Over the next few days, Downtown Greer will serve as the backdrop of an upcoming action movie! Filming will take place on Wednesday at the Jason St. parking garage, and around Trade St. on Thursday. The filming will consist of stunt work, so don't be alarmed if you see some exciting activity!

At the end of June, the man who has presided over court proceedings in the City of Greer for more than three decades will lower the gavel for the final time as Chief Municipal Judge. People from across the state of South Carolina recently packed the courthouse to celebrate the retirement of Judge Henry J. Mims.

During his tenure, Judge Mims has been widely respected for his integrity, fairness, and unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law. He’s been a mentor and role model to members of the legal profession and inspired a legacy of professionalism and public service.

Isaac Johnson will step into Mims’ role as Chief Municipal Judge when Mims officially retires. Johnson is currently serving the city as an associate judge.

Visitors to Greer City Park may notice some small work zones over the next week or so, but the improvement project won’t interfere with the Greer Farmers market or other planned activities.

Starting early Saturday morning, crews will begin working on the fountain wall and the pavers throughout the park. They’ll block off the areas where they are working with cones and caution tape.

Please continue to enjoy City Park while our team works to keep it beautiful and safe for the whole community!

🎨A new mural honoring 150 years of Greer is coming to Downtown!
We are so excited for work to begin on a new piece of public art on the side of the historic Davenport building.
Please note that beginning Wednesday (6/10), several parking spaces as well as a portion of the sidewalk on Randall St. will be temporarily closed.
Be sure to follow along for any project updates and changes, and swing by in the coming weeks to witness art in action as we add a little color to our beautiful downtown!

This weekend pro players, celebrities, and golf enthusiasts all convened on the upstate for the 34th annual BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD Synnex. Ben Kohles secured a 4-shot victory at the tournament, Aaron Hicks and OG Lott won the celebrity divisions, and Josh Howell and Mario Correa took home the amateur titles. We’re proud to have Greer in the spotlight for this prestigious event each year!
