In the mood for nonfiction? Susan recommends picking up The Swerve: How the World Became Modern by Stephen Greenblatt.

"Stephen Greenblatt’s National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize winning The Swerve: How the World Became Modern is an intriguing read about how the rediscovery of a long forgotten poem from Roman antiquity helped move the Renaissance forward, impacted Enlightenment thinkers, and still resonates today."

We're still collecting flowers for a new community art project spearheaded by Patty Fulton from Weaving in Community!

Fiber artists are invited to create fiber flowers to contribute to this project. The flowers will be joined to spell out GPL and be applied to the fencing on the east side of the library. Unveiling of the art piece will be during the GPL Local Art Fest on July 11th.

Flowers should be made from acrylic or polyester fibers and suggested size is 3-4" wide. Donated flowers can be dropped off at The Studio Makerspace.

You can also join our Fiber Arts Meet up on Tuesday, June 16th to create flowers together with other fiber artists. Visit our program calendar to learn more and register: https://www.greenwoodlibrary.us/calendar
