Service was on the rise tonight, just like the temperatures at Greater Greenwood United Ministry's Free Medical Clinic.

A cooling-off feast of pimento cheese and chicken sandwiches, iced tea, and watermelon was just what the crew needed to fuel them.
Thank you, Episcopal Church of the Resurrection's Salley Cathcart and Kelly Wiseman.

Doctor John Eichelberger and Dr. Bob Todd led the crew, serving a full patient lobby of folks waiting to be seen.

The on-site pharmacy was busy filling and refilling prescriptions.
GGUM Pharmacist Tommy Johnson was joined by SRH Pharmacist Kylie Latimer and SRH Pharm tech Shea Deale.

Looking on and taking it all in were two college students aspiring to the fields of Dentistry and Medicine.
Clemson University's Will Gardner and Wofford College's Lauren Mac Robinson got the chance to study the work of seasoned, longtime medical professionals.

FNP Brenda Wulfekotte enthusiastically oriented the students, as did Lab tech Ginger Lawton and RN Raye Poole.

GGUM Executive Director Rosemary Bell was on hand too, welcoming and sharing information with the students, which included returning intern Katrina Pope, a Piedmont Tech student.

Making sure the team worked smoothly was GGUM's Certified Community Health Worker, Edith Pineda.

A cool evening of service on a hot, almost summer day.

Rock Presbyterian Church's Middle Schoolers gave a master class on moving food today at Greater Greenwood United Ministry.

The church's vacation Bible Schoolers jumped right in, unloading an entire storage unit of non-perishable food items and restocking GGUM's Emergency Food Pantry, smiling, laughing, and joking the whole time.

Rock Presbyterian's Associate Pastor Marshall Steinle led the crew as they unloaded and shelved a pantry full of shelf-stable food items.

GGUM Executive Director Rosemary Bell was hands-on too, shepherding the enthusiastic crew, who took great delight in bean counting and raising the cans of beans in triumph!

A great time was had by all. A valuable lesson for the vacation bible schoolers!

Food was on the move at Greater Greenwood United Ministry this week.

Laurel Baptist Church, Westside Presbyterian Church, and Mr. Willie Marine donated buggies full of non-perishables, except for the fresh plums from Mr. Willie's own trees.

Both churches held food drives, fueled by friendly competition among members.

All for a good cause as GGUM regularly dispenses bags of food to its patients and clients and offers weekly distributions to the general public on Fridays, from 9-11:15 AM.

Fearless Leaders!

Members of Leadership Abbeville listened closely as Greater Greenwood United Ministry (GGUM) Executive Director Rosemary Bell shared her leadership journey Wednesday during a meeting at the Abbeville County Chamber of Commerce.

Austin Walker (seated front right) is a Community Development Officer for Stoll Industries and a Leadership Abbeville member who invited Bell to speak to the group about the ups and downs of leadership.

Bell recounted many meaningful moments of success, triumph, as well as letdowns and disappointments during her decades-long career as a leader. The group asked thoughtful and pointed questions of Bell after her talk.

Bell led the Prevention and Wellness arm of Self Regional Healthcare before her current role at the helm of GGUM, where she oversees both the Free Medical Clinic and the Crisis Ministry.

Leadership Abbeville is Abbeville County’s leadership development program created to build stronger leaders for the workplaces, organizations, and institutions that shape our community.
