The Greenwood Police Department serves the citizens and visitors of the City of Greenwood, South Carolina. The department, led by Chief TJ Chaudoin, is made up of 57 sworn officers plus several civilian employees. Greenwood Police Department is a CALEA Gold Standard accredited agency. Each shift is supervised by a Captain, who is assisted by a Lieutenant. The four shifts maintain round-the-clock patrols in the city. They are responsible for answering all calls for service, responding to emergencies, traffic collisions, and protecting the lives and property of the people of Greenwood. The Patrol Division is commanded by a Major who is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the police services rendered to the city. The Investigations Division is supervised by a Major who reports to the Chief of Police. They lead a team of detectives who conduct follow up investigations on incidents. Investigators see cases all the way through to prosecution. The Investigations Division also encompasses the Evidence/Property office, Warrants/Juvenile Office, the Court Liaison Officer, and the department's Crime Suppression Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit. The Administration Division is supervised by a Major. This division handles procurement, equipment, the Records Office, fleet management, the ACE Team, school crossing guards, animal control, and Accreditation.
