Building Connections Through Conversation

Recently, Sgt. James Bearden had the opportunity to visit Next Level Lifestyles and speak with local youth about traffic stops and what to do if they encounter law enforcement during one. The group spent nearly an hour and a half engaged in meaningful discussion, with thoughtful questions and open conversation throughout the session.

Sgt. Bearden, one of our K-9 officers and a member of the Greenwood Police Department's ACE Team, is dedicated to building positive relationships within our community. Opportunities like this allow us to educate, listen, and strengthen trust with the next generation.

We want to give a special thanks to all of the young men who attended and actively participated. Your willingness to ask questions, engage in discussion, and learn more about law enforcement made this event a tremendous success.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Hoot Harrison for organizing this event and reaching out to Sgt. Bearden. Partnerships like these help create valuable opportunities for dialogue and understanding between law enforcement and our community's youth.

At the Greenwood Police Department, we believe that conversations like these are incredibly important. By investing time in our young people today, we help build stronger relationships and a safer, more connected community for tomorrow.

We were truly grateful for the opportunity to meet all of you last night. Seeing your smiling faces, kind hearts, and enthusiasm was a wonderful reminder of the incredible support we receive from our community.

Your thoughtful gifts and encouragement mean more than you know. The snacks will certainly be enjoyed by our officers while they are out serving the community, and your kindness will be remembered long after the treats are gone.

Thank you for taking the time to think of us and for making such a positive impact. We are proud to serve a community filled with caring young people like you!

This is a great example of proactive police work β€” our officers received complaints, conducted their own surveillance, developed evidence, and obtained a search warrant.

Great job, Team Charlie!!!!
