A good day at the Greenwood Fire Department Training Center with On X Dynamics.
The first Red Cross babysitting course had 6 attendees and all were truly a pleasure to have at the course, sincerely.
But their manners during class and lunch...parenting done right. Please and thank yous, hand raising to ask questions. Our instructor Melissa said this was a great class and she enjoyed the red carpet treatment. All we did was offer coffee and a lunch of pizza rolls, chicken nuggets, tater tots and Greenwood hospitality.
The class will definitely be held again.

***Special thank you to D.C. Paul Adam, Elizabeth McGregor and the training officer for preparing lunch, clean up and watching over the young residents of Greenwood.***

Tomorrow the firehouse will be closed to the public due to our babysitting course.

ALL EMERGENCY CALLS WILL BE ANSWERED

There will be NO WALK-INS to the class at the last minute. ALL attendees must be on the instructor list. This course will be offered again in the future.

The safety of those attending is first and foremost. We thank you for understanding.

The countdown has officially started. Come on down and get your rib on, lol!

Still time to get your pre-sale tickets before they're all gone.

Made in our own kitchen by people you know. Come on down and beat the heat. We'll take care of all the cooking for dinner.

If it's Monday, it must be training night. But we switched it to Tuesday night for this week. Preparations are underway for full gear training, commencing with donning drills.
We really appreciate our firefighter trainees for their dedication, particularly on a hot day, as they repeat the on and off process.
A competitive spirit was evident, with interior trainee Ryan Galton achieving a time of 46.76 seconds for donning his gear, followed closely by Deputy Chief Adams.
Exterior firefighter Beth McGregor ensured that all gear was correctly in place and that no skin was exposed.

Following the training session, the Deputy Chief and training officer discussed potential new training initiatives, including traffic accident training, in-house drivers training, and recruitment strategies.

***Still time to register the young ones for the upcoming Red Cross babysitter course this Saturday. And don't forget...rib dinner is a coming next week. Get those pre-sale tickets before there all gone. There going to be a limited amount.***

Last night at about 10:07 pm, a motor vehicle accident occurred a little past the cemetery. It was a vehicle animal involvement. The passengers were shaken and transported.
We would like to thank our fellow firefighters and EMTs from Canisteo Fire Company that assisted with the second ambulance and traffic control.

Daniel LeCrone and Isabella LeCrone
The ambulance driver and the Captain (apologies about not getting your name)

The Greenwood Fire Department Ambulance Corps, EMS Chief Moore, DC Adams for driving and the other member for road clean up assistance.

As well as the Steuben County Sheriff's Department, NYS Police and the neighbors who stopped to offer aid.

Sunday breakfast has come and gone with great success. We thank everyone of our Greenwood residents and community who came out and spent Sunday morning with us. It was nice seeing families and friends sit, eat and talk with no hurry and leave satisfied.
And in case you want to know who is behind today's breakfast...well they stopped for a quick picture.

***Don't forget, June 17th is rib dinner night. Pre-sale tickets are going so get them while the getting is good. The kitchen is literally doing rib & sauce testing today off-site.***

And before everyone left, Interior firefighter trainee Galton went through donning drills with Exterior firefighter Berry. If your always ready...you don't have to get ready.
