We are thankful for our awesome PE teacher, Laura Jones!
Kids Heart Challenge & American Heart Challenge teaches the value of building healthy habits while making a difference for others.
Laura Jones, Physical Education Teacher at East Pointe Elementary School, has seen the impact the program has had on countless students. She said, "As an elementary PE teacher, I have the privilege of teaching children that being active and taking care of their bodies is important. That is one of the reasons KHC is so meaningful to me. I want my students to understand that a healthy heart is something they can work toward every day through movement, healthy choices and taking care of themselves. Most importantly, I want my students to learn that they can make a difference, even at a young age. Whether they are learning CPR, participating in physical activities, raising money, or simply encouraging a friend, they are learning that their actions matter. KHC is about building healthy hearts, healthy habits and compassionate kids. If I can help my students develop a love for movement while teaching them to care about their own health and the health of others, then I am helping create lessons that will last far beyond the walls of my gym."
