🌱 GC3 is building a healthier, stronger Greenwood—together!

This month, partners came together to share updates, celebrate progress, and launch new initiatives that improve health, safety, and quality of life across our community.

Highlights include:
✅ Launching our Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) with free YMCA memberships for participants
✅ Expanding real-time referrals through the Community Safety & Wellness Task Force
✅ Exploring Kids in Parks, active living opportunities, and shared community activity spaces
✅ Strengthening partnerships that connect residents to food, healthcare, housing, and other essential resources
✅ Expanding food access through the launch of Food Share Fresh Produce Boxes, Summer Meals, and the Client Choice Food Pantry Expansion, helping more families access healthy, nutritious food across Greenwood County

When organizations, businesses, schools, healthcare providers, faith communities, and residents work together, real change happens.

🌞🥫 SUMMER OF SHARING FOOD DRIVE 🥫🌞

We need your help!

As summer arrives, many families in our community are facing increased food insecurity while children are out of school and household budgets are stretched. Our soup kitchen is launching a Summer of Sharing Food Drive, and we're asking YOU to come to help stock our pantry shelves. Don't forget to bring your plastic bags!!

🍋 Farmer's Market Senior Voucher distribution begins a week from today. Seniors, don't miss this opportunity to receive $50 in vouchers for the Farmer's Market.

🥕Farmer's Market Senior Voucher distribution will be on Wednesday, June 3, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and on Thursday, June 4, from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.

🍅 Eligible participants will receive $50 through five checks ($10 each). To qualify, Greenwood County residents must be age 60 or older, meet income requirements, report their household size, and have a legal form of identification.

🍉 Drive-thru voucher pick-up will be available at the Farmer's Market, 250 Wilbanks Circle. Please enter Wilbanks Circle from Hwy 72/221. Vouchers are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Distribution may end early if all vouchers are given out before the scheduled end time.

🫑 Applicants will self-declare their total household income (before taxes). Total household income cannot exceed 185% of the federal poverty income limits. 🔗2026 Federal Poverty Guidelines: https://bit.ly/4nHzsDd

🍊 Opening day for the Greenwood County Farmer's Market will be Saturday, June 6.
