Did you know that every time you choose to eat at a local Greenwood restaurant, you're helping invest right back into our community?
Many people don't realize that Greenwood has an Advertising & Promotion (A&P) tax—a 1% tax on prepared food that has been in place since 2008. Those dollars stay local and are managed by the Greenwood A&P Commission to help fund projects, events, and initiatives that attract visitors to our city and enhance the quality of life for the people who call Greenwood home.
Here's the really cool part: when more people choose to dine local, the A&P Commission has more resources to invest back into Greenwood. Those investments help create events, attractions, and improvements that bring even more visitors to our community, supporting local businesses and creating a cycle that benefits everyone.
So whether you're grabbing coffee with a friend, picking up lunch during the workday, or taking the family out for pizza, you're doing more than enjoying a great meal—you're helping support local businesses, community events, parks, and future opportunities for Greenwood to grow.
This isn't about telling anyone where they should eat. It's simply a reminder that when you have the opportunity to shop and dine local, you're helping keep those dollars working right here at home.
