๐Ÿ“ข Greenwood County is taking a giant leap forward in caring for our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team and our community. ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ’š

We are thrilled to announce an innovative change to our EMS work schedule, set to take effect by October. This new schedule, designed with the well-being of our dedicated EMS employees in mind, will be a game-changer for both team members and the residents of Greenwood County.

The new EMS work schedule, aptly named the Extended Responder Schedule (ERS) for the extended off-duty time, represents a major commitment to our dedicated EMS staff's work-life balance and welfare.

Under this innovative arrangement, our EMTs and paramedics will work for 24 hours, followed by 48 hours off-duty, work an additional 24 hours, and then enjoy an extended 96 hours off (equivalent to four days).

This progressive schedule will promote employee well-being and ensure they return to work recharged and ready to deliver the best possible care to our residents.

Do not be alarmed if liquid water drops begin falling from the sky today. This phenomenon is actually not as rare as you might think for June, it's just been awhile since most of us have seen it. Rain chances will remain elevated for much of the week.

06/09/2022

Very warm temperatures are expected next week, with plenty of 100 to 105 heat index values Tuesday through Thursday. Near record temperatures are expected on Wednesday, June 15.
