Greenwood Village hears you: We know many residents are worried about e-motos and e-bikes speeding through our neighborhoods.

GVPD is taking a blended approach that emphasizes both education and enforcement to address these concerns. Our officers are on patrol every day, working to keep our streets safe for everyone. They are also actively educating riders and their parents about safe riding practices and the rules of the road.

Recently, a 15-year-old was arrested by GVPD for repeatedly trying to evade police, and his bike was impounded. Two other teens were cited for careless driving and performing risky stunts in a busy retail parking lot.

We want everyone to have a fun and safe summer—but reckless riding can have serious consequences. Many of these vehicles aren't street legal, and riding irresponsibly puts lives at risk.

Parents: Please talk to your kids about where, what, and how they're riding. Make sure they know the rules—and why safety matters.

Want to know more? Check out our E-Bike and E-Moto Safety Guide at GreenwoodVillage.com/EBikes so everyone can enjoy a safer summer.

Greenwood Village is now targeting Friday, July 3, for reopening the Westlands Park Water Feature. Thank you for your understanding as City staff continue to work diligently to get this amenity ready for all to enjoy. We appreciate your continued patience.

Westlands Park Water Feature Opening Delay: The Westlands Park water feature will not open by Memorial Day weekend. We appreciate the community’s patience as both our contractor and city staff have worked diligently throughout the winter to rebuild this popular feature.

We are targeting a reopening for Friday, June 19. Greenwood Village will continue to update the community on the water feature reopening date, both on our social media channels and with on-site signage.

Thank you for your understanding as we get the water feature ready for all to enjoy this summer.

🗳️ Know Before You Go: June 30 Primary Election

Beginning today (Monday, June 8), voters can find the drive-up, 24-hour ballot drop box in the east Parking Lot at City Hall (6060 South Quebec Street, near the police evidence building) to drop off their ballots for the June 30 Primary Election.

Things to know:
🚫There will not be a ballot box inside City Hall.
👀 The drop box area is under video surveillance.
⚠️ Please use extra caution when crossing the parking lot or moving between City facilities.
✅ Greenwood Village’s ballot box consistently ranks No. 3 in Arapahoe County for ballot volume—please plan ahead and give yourself extra time if you plan to drop off your ballot in person.
☑️ Arapahoe County offers 37 ballot boxes for 24-hour drop-off. For a full list of locations, visit ArapahoeVotes.gov.

Please note that City Hall will not serve as a Voter Service Polling Center (VSPC) for the upcoming Primary Election. However, the Community Room at City Hall will be a VSPC for the November 3 General Election.

For any questions, contact the City Clerk’s Office at [email protected] or 303-486-5752 for more information.

🎉Congratulations to the newest graduates of the Greenwood Village Police Citizens’ Academy! 👏 Your dedication, curiosity, and commitment to building a stronger partnership between our police department and the community truly inspire us.

Over the 11-week course, participants explored the inner workings of law enforcement through hands-on activities and in-depth presentations. Graduates learned about everything from patrol operations and criminal investigations to traffic enforcement, crime scene analysis, SWAT tactics, and K-9 demonstrations. They even experienced simulated scenarios and ride-alongs with our officers, gaining a real-world perspective on the challenges and rewards of policing.

We’re grateful for your enthusiasm for learning what it takes to keep Greenwood Village safe. Thank you for being positive ambassadors for public safety! 🚓💙

Original Post 5/21: Cherry Creek Campus Rebuild Project Update: Demolition has now started on the second of two district administrative office buildings located on the corner of Union Street and Yosemite Street. Complete demolition and removal of materials will take about five weeks. Demolishing these two buildings is the first step of Phase I of the multi-year process to rebuild Cherry Creek High School.

In addition, from May 26 through June 5, Dayton Street will be reduced to a single lane, with traffic controllers to help guide drivers between Campus Middle School and Belleview Elementary School.
