This week Greenwich cut the ribbon on the new Central Middle School — the largest capital project in town history. 🎗️🏫
Here’s the part the coverage left out:
CMS wasn’t scheduled for replacement until 2033. Even after the building was declared unsafe in 2022, there was no urgency — until Republicans on the BET forced it to the front of the line, pushing to accelerate design and funding a full decade early.
They also held the line on cost: from a wish list headed past $125M to a $112M appropriation.
On state money: Greenwich got a 20% reimbursement — while Norwalk’s Democratic leadership secured 80% for their high school. Greenwich sends far more to Hartford and got far less back. That’s not legislative skill. That’s breadcrumbs. 🍞
No Republican insistence in 2022 = no ribbon cutting in 2026. That history belongs next to the photographs.
Greenwich is worth fighting for. Support our candidates. Vote Republican!
