𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐬 🌿

We're so glad to welcome Lindsey to our Sumter office.

Lindsey believes counseling should be a place where you feel supported, understood, and accepted — while also having space to better understand yourself and make the changes that matter to you. She has a particular passion for helping people heal from trauma and difficult experiences, and she believes there is more than one way to heal.

A little about how she works:

Trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), helping the brain process difficult experiences so they feel less overwhelming 🧠
Trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD
Draws on approaches like nature, equine assisted therapy, creativity, Reiki, and Energy Psychology to complement traditional talk therapy 🌱
Focused on building awareness, practical coping skills, and recognizing the strengths you already have

Healing from trauma can change the way we see ourselves and the world — opening up choices and freedom in places where we once felt stuck.

If you or someone you love is ready for that kind of support, Lindsey is now seeing clients in person at our Sumter office. Reach out through the link in our bio to get connected.

He doesn’t value the institution of marriage more than He values His daughters. He doesn’t ask you to endure a destructive marriage to preserve an image of godliness.

We’ve misquoted Scripture to protect reputations instead of protecting people.

Yes, Malachi references God hating divorce. But the same passage addresses God hating violence and treachery. We memorize the first part and conveniently forget the second.

When a Christian marriage becomes a cover for emotional abuse and coercive control, the problem isn’t the woman who leaves. The problem is the harm being done in God’s name.

If you’ve been told that staying in an abusive marriage honors God more than seeking safety, that’s not biblical truth. That’s spiritual manipulation.

Your safety matters to God. His heart breaks for you, not because you’re considering divorce, but because you’ve been harmed in a relationship that was supposed to reflect His love.

Your safety matters to God. Full stop.

Comment GUIDE for my free Quick Start Guide with biblical clarity on navigating a destructive marriage.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠?
As a therapist, I am often asked: how will I know I’ve healed from the trauma?
Healing is slow. It’s subjective. And it looks different for everyone.
Healing might mean:
🌙 Sleeping through the night
✈️ Getting on that airplane
📷 Looking at old photographs without crying
🕊️ Feeling calm in your body
💬 Being able to talk about hard things
💛 Expressing emotions instead of stuffing them
🌱 Staying present instead of dissociating
🚫 Setting a boundary without guilt
Ultimately, healing is coming home to yourself and giving yourself what you needed all along — self-compassion, genuine love, authenticity, connection, presence.
What does healing mean to you?
Wherever you are in that process, you don’t have to do it alone. If you’re looking to explore healing from past trauma, click the link in our bio — we’d be happy to connect you with one of our trauma-focused therapists.

Beauty for Ashes Counseling’s Greenville office is closed today May 14 2026 all scheduled appointments will move to telehealth. There was a power line that fell and ignited our front lawn. No one was hurt. Many thanks to the Greenville Fire E6 for their quick response and for doing a walkthrough of our office to make sure there was no damage.

We’ve been told, “God hates divorce.”

And for many women, that sentence has kept them in harm.

But what if we’ve misunderstood it?

God does not hate you for leaving what is destroying you.
God is not asking you to endure violence, betrayal, or abuse to prove your faith.

God hates what leads to divorce.

He hates violence.
He hates betrayal.
He hates the hard-heartedness that crushes another human being.

He hates what destroys covenant.

And here’s the truth that changes everything:

God loves you more than He hates divorce, more than he loves marriage.

You are not more valuable to Him as a married woman than as a safe woman.

If what you are experiencing is harm, control, and fear…

That is not something God is asking you to preserve.

That is something breaking His heart.

Leaving is courageous.

Leaving is hard.

Living is harder.

If you’ve been telling yourself you need a break… this is it. 🌊

The Creative Beach Retreat is happening NEXT MONTH, and there are only a few spots left.

This is not a packed conference schedule.
It’s not performative vulnerability.
It’s not another space where you have to be “on.”

It’s four days intentionally designed for therapists, helping professionals, trauma survivors, and growth-oriented humans who need space to slow down and regulate.

Through expressive arts, mindful movement, evidence-based therapeutic practices, and grounding time in nature, this retreat supports deep nervous system restoration and meaningful connection.

If you’ve been running on empty, this is your invitation to step out of survival mode and into something steadier. 🌱

Spots are limited to preserve intimacy. If you’re coming with a group of 4 or more, you’ll receive 15% off.

Visit www.bravespaceretreats.com to secure your spot before it fills!
