Friends, with an incredibly heavy heart, we must make another terrible announcement. Kitty Carpenter Jackson passed away today at 2 pm due to type A influenza complications. We will be making arrangements tomorrow, and will post them here for you. She loved each of you, and cherished the memories we all made together at the Drugstore.

This is a nice write up from the Upstate Business Journal from a few years ago that I thought I would share with everyone.

In 1883 Alfred Baxter Carpenter opened a drugstore in Pelzer. He and his brother, John Lee Carpenter, moved to Greenville and bought the Mansion House Drug Store in 1889.

It is a sad time in the Carpenter family. Adair Carpenter, whom we all have loved and adored for years, went on to be with her husband Bill in heaven on Sunday. Those interested may join with the family Friday night, a April 17th at Mackay Mortuary between the hours of 5-7. A service will be held Saturday the 18th at 11 AM, in Greer, at the Church of the Good Shepherd. All are invited to attend.

Does anybody remember the name of the tv show that was filmed in the drugstore? I remember doing a science project of it when I was in 5th grade.

Does anyone know if Pickwick actually used the old fountain?? This article states they were to install the Carpenter Brothers Drugstore fountain in the 2007 renovation... Is it still there??
