🌑️ HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT 🌑️

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Washington County and much of the Mississippi Delta through 8:00 PM Saturday. Heat index values are expected to reach around 105Β°F.

During extreme heat, your air conditioner may not be able to cool your home as quickly as you'd like. Setting your thermostat extremely low will not cool your home faster and can actually cause your unit to work harder, increase energy costs, and potentially lead to freeze-ups and breakdowns.

Remember the 20Β° Rule:
βœ… If it's 95Β°F outside, a thermostat setting of 75Β°F is typically the most efficient and effective way to keep your home comfortable.

Other ways to stay cool:
β€’ Close blinds and curtains during the hottest part of the day.
β€’ Keep exterior doors closed.
β€’ Use ceiling fans to improve comfort.
β€’ Limit use of heat-producing appliances during peak afternoon hours.

Please take precautions during this heat advisory:
πŸ’§ Drink plenty of water.
β˜€οΈ Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.
πŸ‘΅ Check on elderly neighbors, friends, and family members.
🐾 Make sure pets have access to shade and water.
πŸš— Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.

Stay safe, stay cool, and help your AC work smarter, not harder.
