The Greenville County Coroner’s Office partnered to host “Beyond the Gift: Saving Lives and Connecting the Dots Through Investigation.”

This training brought together healthcare professionals and death investigators to better understand the intersection of organ donation and medicolegal death investigation, with a focus on collaboration, communication, and serving families with compassion.

We appreciate our partners at Sharing Hope SC and Upstate AHEC for helping make this training possible.

Great day with our mobile unit set up at a local school event!

We always appreciate the opportunity to connect with students and families and share the importance of substance use education and prevention alongside our partners at The Phoenix Center.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by!

This week, our mobile unit spent two full days at Lakeview Middle School where we provided substance use prevention education and engaged with students to encourage healthy choices.

Early education plays a critical role in helping young people understand risks, build confidence, and make informed decisions.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office is entering year five of being accredited by the International Association of Coroners and Medical Examiners (IACME), which upholds the highest standards, professionalism, and quality of work in death investigation for coroner and medical examiners offices around the country. We are very proud of this achievement!

This week is Medicolegal Death Investigation Professionals Week, which is a week to honor all of those who investigate death.

Greenville County Coroner’s Office would like to thank our Deputy Coroners, Deputy Coroners II, Senior Deputy Coroners, Forensic Pathologists/Medical Examiner, Administrative staff, morgue attendants, autopsy technicians, transport, and especially Coroner Mike Ellis.

Our job is tough but essential and we couldn’t do it without this amazing group.
