Greenville County Soil & Water Conservation District The District is unique in that we are governed by a local commission and funded through county and state government allocations as well as private donations.

Greenville County Soil and Water Conservation District are leaders in conservation awareness, urban and land use planning, sustainable agriculture, and water quality protection. The Greenville County Soil and Water Conservation District protects natural resources through public education, land and water conservation programs, and cooperative efforts with partner organizations. Commission meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month and are open to the public.

Join FoRR at Southernside Brewing Co. next Tuesday evening for science, storytelling, and river connections! Grab a drink and hear from local experts as they describe how we plan with nature. Dive into the concept of ecological planning and learn how and where the City of Greenville utilizes green practices to help keep our Reedy clean. Then, be sure to stick around for Q/A & the conversations that follow!

Come early (around 6 PM) to socialize, grab some snacks, and settle in before the talks begin at 6:30. No RSVP needed. We hope to see you there! Southernside Brewing Co.

Farmers and timber landowners: The SC Department of Agriculture is offering federal funding through the SC Disaster Relief Block Grant for Hurricane Helene (2024). The program is designed to provide targeted assistance to farmers and forest landowners who experienced losses not covered by existing USDA programs or crop insurance. Find out if you’re eligible at agriculture.sc.gov/helene. Application period: May 12-June 30. Review process: July 1-September 30. Landowner payments: Oct. 1-Dec. 31.
