Today we want to give a huge THANK YOU to A Shift for their hard work, dedication, and commitment during our boot drive fundraiser. From the early hours to the late evening traffic, these firefighters stood out in the heat with one goal in mind โ€” supporting our community and serving with pride.

๐Ÿš’ TODAY IS THE FINAL DAY! ๐Ÿš’

This weekend has been nothing short of incredible, and we are beyond thankful for the overwhelming support shown by our community during the annual Boot Drive. Every donation, wave, honk, prayer, and kind word means more than you know.

Our firefighters have spent the last several days out in the heat working hard, meeting members of the community, and continuing a tradition that helps support our department and the services we provide to South Hunt County.

To everyone who has stopped by and donated โ€” THANK YOU. Your generosity directly supports the mission of serving and protecting our communities every single day.

If you havenโ€™t had a chance to donate yet, thereโ€™s still time! Our crews will be out one final day collecting donations, and we would love to see you out there.

Come say hello, snap a photo with your local firefighters, and help us finish this Boot Drive strong! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ

On this Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others. Their courage, selflessness, and dedication will never be forgotten.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or the beginning of summer โ€” it is a day of reflection. A day to remember those who answered the call to serve, stood in the face of danger, and gave everything for something greater than themselves. Their sacrifice continues to inspire gratitude and remembrance in communities across the country.

We remember the heroes who never made it home. The empty seats at family tables. The families, friends, and fellow service members who carry their memory forward every day. Their legacy lives on not only in history, but in the hearts of so many.

Today, we honor their lives, their service, and their sacrifice. We remember the strength they showed, the courage they carried, and the profound impact they left behind. May we never forget their sacrifice, and may we continue to live in a way that honors their memory.

From all of us at SHCFR, we extend our deepest gratitude to the fallen heroes of our armed forces and to the families who continue to carry their legacy forward.

Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.Always remembered. Never forgotten. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Friday, Captain K. Searl and Firefighter S. Waller attended the Forged in Fire Leadership Seminar hosted by TEEX and taught by fire service leader Frank Viscuso.

The class focused on leadership, accountability, team culture, and what it takes to build a strong department from the inside out. The seminar also highlighted lessons from Frank Viscusoโ€™s book, Flash Point: Forge a Winning Team Culture.

At SHCFR, we know being better for our community starts with being better for each other โ€” and maybe drinking just a little too much coffee along the way. Training isnโ€™t only about pulling hose and fighting fire; itโ€™s about leadership, mindset, teamwork, and learning how to keep calm when everything around you definitely is not.

Opportunities like this are made possible through the incredible support of our community and the generous donations we receive throughout the year. Your support allows us to send our crews to valuable trainings that strengthen leadership, teamwork, and the skills needed to better serve South Hunt County. We truly appreciate everyone who continues to invest in our department and our firefighters.

Stay safe, South Hunt County Fire Rescue.
