🚨 APPARATUS SPOTLIGHT — SQUAD 96 🚨
Today, we conclude our Apparatus Spotlight series by introducing the newest addition to the Greenville Fire Department fleet — Squad 96!
This 2026 Ford F-350 was designed with one goal in mind: putting the right resources on the street quickly, efficiently, and safely.
🚑 EMS Response
As a PA Department of Health licensed Quick Response Service (QRS) vehicle, Squad 96 will primarily respond to medical emergencies throughout the Borough of Greenville and surrounding communities.
🔥 Fireground Support
Equipped with SCBAs and assorted firefighting tools, Squad 96 allows additional and off-duty firefighters to respond directly to fire incidents and support crews already operating on scene.
🌊 Water Rescue
Additional water rescue equipment gives Squad 96 another important role in supporting swift water, ice rescue, and other water-related emergencies.
🚗 Vehicle Extrication
Squad 96 carries a battery-powered Hurst eDraulic combi-tool, providing backup to Rescue 96 while also allowing additional extrication operations to take place simultaneously—helping our crews work faster when every second matters.
One of the biggest advantages of Squad 96 is its size and versatility. EMS responses make up a significant portion of our call volume, and utilizing a smaller, more maneuverable and fuel-efficient vehicle allows us to respond effectively without operating a larger piece of fire apparatus on every call. Over time, that means reduced fuel consumption, less wear on our larger apparatus, and lower operating costs—all while maintaining the level of service our community expects.
Squad 96 may be smaller than the rest of our front-line fleet, but its role is anything but small.
Welcome to service, Squad 96! 🚒🚑
Thank you for following along with our Apparatus Spotlight series and learning more about the equipment your Greenville firefighters use every day to serve our community.
