Montcalm County Habitat for Humanity

Montcalm County Habitat for Humanity Montcalm County Habitat for Humanity builds houses, community and hope in our local community. Roughly 18% of people in our county live below the poverty level.

Who We Are:
Montcalm County Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to building safe, and affordable housing for economically disadvantaged families in Montcalm County. Since 1991 we have partnered with a broad coalition of individuals, churches and businesses to build 24 homes in Montcalm County. Why We Are Needed:
For many hard-working families in Mo

ntcalm County, the dream of home ownership seems unattainable. This is more than 13% higher than the state average. Montcalm County Habitat for Humanity empowers families by making the dream of home ownership a reality. This is how we serve God, build hope and break the cycle of poverty in our community. Who We Serve:
Our Partner Families are first-time home buyers who earn between 30-60% of the median income and who are currently living in unsafe, dilapidated, or unaffordable housing. Homeowners are selected based on their need for housing, their ability to pay a no or low interest mortgage, and their willingness to partner with Habitat to work on their own home and those of others. We seek to empower families by providing economic opportunity, home owner education, log-term partnership, hands-on learning and the dignity of a hand-up, not a hand-out.
