On 11/24/2025 The Muhlenberg County Sheriff Office responded to a report of a trespasser in a wooded area off of Corley Rd. in Greenville. Deputy Sheriff Kyler Harvey located 47-year-old Shaun Henry on the property and placed him under arrest. Henry was charged with Criminal Trespassing 3rd degree, Possession of Ma*****na, Drug Paraphernalia buy or possess and Receiving Stolen Property. Henry was also served two outstanding Warrants of Arrest for Violation of EPO/DVO, Assault 4th Degree (Domestic Violence) Minor Injury, Robbery 2nd Degree, Burglary 2nd degree, Stalking 1st Degree, Sexual Abuse 1st Degree, Assault 4th Degree, and Burglary 2nd Degree. Henry was transported to and lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.

It’s everyone’s favorite time of year again! 2025 Property Tax bills are on the way to the post office. They will be payable beginning November 1. You will be able to pay your bill on our website at www.muhlenbergcountysheriffky.com, in person in our office, by mail, or in the Dropbox at the back of the courthouse. The fee to pay online is $1.50 if using your checking account, or a 2.5% fee if using a credit card.

On 10/16/2025 Deputy Kaleb Rolley arrived at a residence on W. Reservoir in Central City, attempting to locate a person with multiple outstanding warrants of arrest. During the investigation methamphetamine, ma*****na, drug paraphernalia, and prescription drugs were located in the residence. 40-year-old Roger Arnold from Central City was arrested and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st degree 2nd or greater offense (methamphetamine), Possession of Ma*****na, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd degree (drug unspecified), Possession of a Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container, and four outstanding Warrants of Arrest. 29-year-old Desiree Johnson was also arrested and charged with Hindering Prosecution or Apprehension 2nd degree, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st degree 2nd or greater offense (methamphetamine), Possession of Ma*****na, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (drug unspecified), Possession of Controlled Substance not in Proper Container 1st offense. Arnold and Johnson were transported to and lodged in The Muhlenberg County Detention Center. Deputy Rolley was assisted at the scene by The Central City Police Department.

On 10/14/2025 Deputy Kaleb Rolley conducted a traffic stop on a
vehicle traveling on North 8th St. in Central City. During this
investigation the operator of the vehicle was suspected of being under
the influence of alcohol and controlled substances. A search of the
vehicle led to the discovery of a stolen handgun along with a large
amount of suspected methamphetamine, prescription pills, cash currency
and drug paraphernalia. The driver of the vehicle identified as 36
year old Heather Collier, from Central City, was placed under arrest
and charged with careless driving, rear license not Illuminated,
failure to or improper signal, failure to wear seat belts, operating
on a suspended or revoked operator's license, operating motor vehicle
under the influence alcohol or controlled substance 2nd offense,
trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) (firearm
enhanced), drug paraphernalia buy/ possess, possession controlled
substance (opiates), possession of handgun by convicted felon, and
receiving stolen property (firearm). A passenger in the vehicle,
43-year-old Michael Robinson, was also arrested and charged with
trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) (firearm
enhanced), drug paraphernalia buy/possess, possession of controlled
substance 1st degree (opiates), possession of a handgun by convicted
felon, and receiving stolen property (firearm). Deputy Rolley was
assisted at the scene by The Central City Police Department.

Muhlenberg County Schools will be back in session on Wednesday this
week. Just a reminder to be cautious of the increased school traffic
that will be on the roadways. Here are a few helpful tips to keep in
mind when driving in a school zone area and driving safely when you
see a school bus.

• Slow down, drive extra cautiously. be mindful of posted school zone speeds.
• Don't load or unload children across the street from the school.
• Don't double park; it blocks visibility for other children and vehicles.
• Be prepared for kids to appear in unexpected places
• Watch for kids walking while looking at their phones.
• If you're driving behind a school bus, allow a greater following
distance than if you were driving behind a car—at least three car
lengths.
• Stay alert for flashing lights on a bus, which warn drivers of an
impending stop. Treat yellow flashing lights the same as a yellow stop
light and decrease your speed. Stop when you see red flashing lights.
• The area 10 feet around a school bus is the most dangerous for
children; stop far enough away to allow them space to safely enter and
exit the bus.

Passing a school bus that's stopped to load or unload children is
something that is illegal in all 50 states and strictly enforced. We
hope all of our returning students have an exciting and safe new
school year.
