๐Ÿ“ธ A community history request from a family with deep roots in Indian Valley.

We were contacted by Cliff Smith, whose great-grandfather William Ross helped establish the Seventh-day Adventist Church that once stood at 210 Crescent Street in Greenville (next to todayโ€™s Dollar General location) before it was lost in the Dixie Fire.

Cliffโ€™s family is planning a trip to Greenville, Taylorsville, and Quincy to reconnect with their family history. William Ross is buried in the Taylorsville Cemetery alongside many relatives, and Cliff is hoping to preserve photographs of the church and area for his children and future generations.

If anyone has old photographs of the SDA church โ€” or even photos where the church appears in the background โ€” please share them in the comments or message the page.

Old family albums, church events, parade photos, graduations, and street scenes may all help preserve this piece of Greenville history. ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ’ง The 2025 Consumer Confidence Reports for Greenville and Crescent Mills are now available through IVCSD.

These reports provide a detailed look at our local water systems, including water sources, treatment processes, testing, monitoring, and regulatory standards.

The reports are also helpful for understanding how watershed conditions โ€” including impacts that can occur after major wildfires โ€” may affect mountain water systems over time and why ongoing testing and monitoring are so important for rural communities like ours.

Whether youโ€™re simply curious about where your water comes from or want a better understanding of how local water systems are managed, these reports are worth reviewing.

Thank you to IVCSD for making this information publicly available and helping keep the community informed.
