PUBLIC SAFETY POWER SHUTOFF (PSPS) – PLUMAS COUNTY - SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 12, 2026

Plumas County Office of Emergency Services has been notified by PG&E of a potential Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) that may affect portions of Plumas County beginning Saturday morning, September 12, and continuing through Sunday, September 13.

There is prediction of high winds, low humidity and dry vegetation which could cause a wildfire.

PG&E - High potential areas of power being shutoff:
Lake Almanor
Canyon Dam
Greenville
Indian Valley
Twain
Feather River Canyon
(Chester should still have power)

Liberty –
Portola - there is potential, but we have not received confirmation of a Liberty Utilities PSPS affecting our county. Stay prepared.

Plumas Sierra Rural Electric –
Should not be affected

Residents in potentially affected areas should prepare now for the possibility of an extended power outage. Please charge phones and electronic devices, ensure generators and backup power supplies are ready, maintain adequate fuel, and make preparations for medical equipment or other essential devices that depend on electricity.

PSPS locations and timing can change as weather conditions and forecasts change. Residents should continue monitoring information from their electric utility.

“Raffle tickets are $1 each, buy as many as you like. Put them in the bin that corresponds to the item you are interested in. They will be for sale at the chamber booth and at the bar. You do not need to be present to win but make sure there is a clear name and number on your ticket. Ticket numbers will be verified once called. Raffle winners will be announced at 5pm.”

There's still time to join the 2026 Gold Diggers Parade—and yes, you can even sign up the morning of the parade!

This year's theme is **Bringing the Green Back to Greenville** 🌲💚

The theme celebrates the people, businesses, organizations, and volunteers who stayed, rebuilt, planted, supported their neighbors, and continue helping Greenville recover following the Dixie Fire. Greenville's story is still being written, and this year's parade is a chance to celebrate the resilience that has carried our community forward.

🏆 **Float Cash Prizes**
🥇 1st Place — $250
🥈 2nd Place — $100
🥉 3rd Place — $50

To be eligible for the cash prizes, your entry should be a **float-style parade entry** that reflects this year's theme.

🎀 Not entering a float? No problem! Ribbons will also be awarded in other parade categories, including horses, vehicles, walkers, and more.

⭐ This year's Grand Marshal is **Michaela "Mickey" Trammell**, CEO of the Dixie Fire Canopy Project, whose work is helping restore Greenville's tree canopy and support the community's long-term recovery.
