The Greenville Police Department has obtained arrest warrants for Henry Gibson and Roosevelt Holloway in connection with the theft of thousands of dollars’ worth of construction materials from a property located at 1501 E. Reed Road.

The incident occurred on August 23, 2026, when numerous items, including doors, vanities, cabinets, electrical wire, lighting, and a hot water heater, were reportedly stolen from the property.

Gibson and Holloway are currently wanted by the Greenville Police Department. Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 662-378-TIPS (8477).

TWO INJURED IN N. 9TH STREET SHOOTING

On September 11, 2026, at approximately 8:51 p.m., officers with the Greenville Police Department responded to the 200 block of North 9th Street after receiving an alert of shots fired in the area.

Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence of a significant exchange of gunfire involving multiple fi****ms. Investigators learned that a white sedan occupied by several unknown individuals reportedly traveled through the area, and gunfire was exchanged with individuals near a residence.

Two individuals sustained gunshot wounds and were transported by private vehicle to Delta Health System – The Medical Center for treatment. Their current conditions have not been released.

During the investigation, officers recovered multiple fi****ms, spent shell casings, and other evidence from the scene. Two vehicles and a nearby residence were also found to have been struck by gunfire. Officers additionally recovered suspected controlled substances, which were turned over to the Greenville Police Department Special Operations Division.

The Greenville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division has assumed the investigation. Detectives are working to identify all individuals involved and determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today, the City of Greenville, Greenville Fire Department, Greenville Police Department, Emergency Personnel & First Responders joined together in solemn remembrance of the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the families forever changed by the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we still remember the courage of the firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency personnel, first responders, military members, and ordinary citizens who demonstrated extraordinary bravery in one of our nation’s darkest hours.

Our gathering today was more than a ceremony—it was a reminder that service, sacrifice, courage, and unity must never be forgotten.

We honor those who ran toward danger when others were running away. We remember those who never made it home. And we remain grateful for the men and women who continue to answer the call every day to protect, serve, rescue, and care for our communities.

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO RECOVERY OF FIREARM WITH MACHINE GUN CONVERSION DEVICE

GREENVILLE, MISS. — A traffic stop conducted by the Greenville Police Department’s Special Operations Division resulted in the arrest of Cedric Curtis Jr. and the recovery of a firearm allegedly equipped with a machine gun conversion device, commonly referred to as a “switch.”

At approximately 10:51 p.m., investigators participating in a saturation detail stopped a Chevrolet Tahoe on Reed Road for an equipment violation. During the investigation, officers recovered suspected ma*****na, drug paraphernalia, ammunition, and other items from the vehicle.

A further search led investigators to discover a concealed firearm inside a compartment in the vehicle’s center console. Investigators determined that the firearm had allegedly been modified with a machine gun conversion device.

Curtis was taken into custody and transported to the Greenville Police Department. Investigators also determined that Curtis has a prior felony conviction, and the firearm-related investigation remains ongoing.

Curtis was additionally cited for Improper Equipment, Expired Tag, Possession of Ma*****na Less Than 30 Grams, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The Greenville Police Department continues its efforts to remove illegally possessed and modified fi****ms from our streets through proactive enforcement and targeted saturation details.

ARMED SUSPECT TAKEN INTO CUSTODY FOLLOWING STANDOFF

GREENVILLE, MISS. — The Greenville Police Department has taken Quincy Tyrone Eaton into custody following an investigation that began with a domestic-related incident on September 8.

Eaton allegedly entered a residence on East Moore Street, threatened a victim with an AK-style firearm, and later fled from officers, leading police on a high-speed pursuit. After crashing on Flanagan Road, Eaton allegedly fled into a field armed with a rifle. During the search, multiple shots were allegedly fired at officers, forcing them to take cover.

Following continued investigative efforts, Eaton was located, and after a standoff, he was taken into custody at approximately 11:00 a.m. this morning.

Eaton is currently facing several felony charges by the Greenville Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Department. Additional information regarding the specific charges will be released as the investigation progresses.

The Greenville Police Department thanks all assisting law enforcement agencies and personnel involved in bringing this dangerous situation to a safe conclusion.

UPDATE — ARREST MADE IN EAST LYNN CIRCLE SHOOTING

Greenville, Mississippi — The Greenville Police Department is providing an update regarding the shooting investigation that occurred in the 900 block of East Lynn Circle.

On September 9, 2026, Latoya Davis was taken into custody by the Greenville Police Department without incident in connection with the investigation.

Davis is currently charged with four (4) counts of Aggravated Assault, and is currently at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility with a $60,000 bond.

This arrest is the result of the continued investigative efforts of the Greenville Police Department. The investigation remains active, and additional information may be released as it becomes available.

As with all criminal matters, Davis is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

TWO STOLEN VEHICLES RECOVERED; ONE SUSPECT ARRESTED

GREENVILLE, MISS. —The Greenville Police Department has recovered two vehicles reported stolen from a residence on Robertshaw Street and has made an arrest in connection with the investigation.

On Tuesday, September 8, 2026, officers responded to the 1500 block of Robertshaw Street regarding two stolen vehicles. The victim reported discovering that someone had taken keys belonging to a 2008 Chevrolet Impala and a 2012 Nissan Altima. Both vehicles were subsequently discovered missing.

The victim also reported that several personal items, including approximately $2,000 in cash, identification, a wallet, additional vehicle keys, and other personal property, were inside the stolen vehicles.

Both vehicles were entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as stolen.
Later that day, Greenville Police received a FLOCK license plate reader alert indicating that the stolen Nissan Altima had been detected in the area of Alexander and Colorado Streets.

Officers responded to the area and developed information that led them to identify Markeal Johnson as a suspect. Johnson was taken into custody in connection with the stolen Nissan Altima. During the investigation, officers were able to locate the vehicle near the College and Hyman Street area.

Additional information obtained during the investigation indicated that the stolen Chevrolet Impala had been taken to Leland, Mississippi. Greenville Police contacted the Leland Police Department, whose officers subsequently located the Impala in the 100 block of Stalling Street in Leland.
As a result, both stolen vehicles have been successfully recovered.

The Greenville Police Department thanks the Leland Police Department for its assistance in quickly locating and recovering the second vehicle.

This remains an active investigation, and anyone with information concerning this incident is encouraged to contact the Greenville Police Department at (662) 378-1515 or Washington County Crime Stoppers.
