To honor a legacy of courage and service, Crime Stoppers of Greenville held its annual Russ Sorrow and Fallen Officers Awards Banquet. This event is a meaningful way to remember those who stood for justice in Greenville County and made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. It is also a time to recognize the amazing men and women who are currently keeping our communities safe today.

Honoring all Americans who lost their lives this day 25 years ago, including the first responders who ran toward the danger while others desperately tried to get away from the horror. Many died that day; others suffered injuries and/or later illnesses from exposure to toxic dust.

Another drug bust in Greenville County

An ongoing drug investigation on Smith Road in Landrum led our Bravo Platoon deputies to seize:

▶️ 87 grams of methamphetamine
▶️ 6.43 grams of fentanyl
▶️ .43 grams of crack co***ne
▶️ 4 Schedule I–V controlled substance pills

Brittany Sarah Wofford was arrested and charged with:

✅ Trafficking Methamphetamine – 3rd Offense
✅ Trafficking Fentanyl – 3rd Offense
✅ Possession of Crack Co***ne – 3rd Offense
✅ Possession of Am******on by a Violent Felon
✅ Commission of a Violent Crime While on Bond
✅ 8 Counts of Violation of the Home Incarceration Program (ankle monitoring)

Alan Blake Kirkpatrick was arrested and charged with:

✅ Trafficking Methamphetamine – 3rd Offense
✅ Trafficking Fentanyl – 3rd Offense
✅ Possession of Crack Co***ne – 3rd Offense
✅ Possession of Am******on by a Violent Felon.

Crime Stoppers of Greenville offers its most sincere condolences to the family, friends, and coworkers of fallen officer Deputy Michael Hendricks in Charleston County 💙🖤

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is deeply saddened to confirm the passing of 33-year-old Charleston County Deputy Michael Hendricks, who was involved in a vehicle collision Wednesday, September 9, 2026, while on duty. Deputy Hendricks joined the Sheriff’s Office in April of 2023, and most recently served as a member of our Metro Unit.

This news has deeply affected all of us. Deputy Hendricks was known for showing up every day ready to serve and ready to help others—that commitment didn’t stop when he went home.

We are grieving alongside his family, friends, and coworkers, and ask our community to keep them in their thoughts. Out of respect for the family, we will share additional information when appropriate.

**UPDATE**

Investigators with the GCSO Homicide Unit have made an arrest in connection with the shooting that left two people injured on the afternoon of September 8th at Lakeside Park (1500 Piedmont Highway).

During the investigation, investigators learned a group of individuals had gathered at Lakeside Park, where a fight broke out between two individuals. At some point, two people intervened and were subsequently shot by the suspect, identified as 24-year-old William Deonterious Mills, Jr.

Mills, Jr. was arrested following the shooting and is currently in the Greenville County Detention Center on two counts of Attempted Murder and two counts of Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.

Both gunshot victims are expected to recover.

(Piedmont, SC)-Investigators with the GCSO are on scene at Lakeside Park, located at 1500 Piedmont Highway following a shooting that left two people injured.

Greenville County Deputies responded just after 2:00pm after someone called 911 reporting the shooting. Once on scene deputies located two victims, each with at least one gunshot wound that is described as non-life threatening.

Investigators believe the shooting followed a physical altercation between at least two people at the park, however they are still working to identify the shooter.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Greenville at 864-23-CRIME.

****UPDATE: FOUND AND RETURNED HOME

The Greenville Sheriff's Office said is investigating the kidnapping of a 13-year-old girl, later found safe across state lines.

Deputies say 13-year-old Allisson Cabrera has been reunited with her family after being located in Salisbury, North Carolina, with the assistance of N.C. local and state authorities.

Investigators say the teen was picked up after leaving her house Saturday, Sept. 5 around 1 a.m., by an uknown 17-year-old. Officials say the juvenile suspect has been arrested and charged with kidnapping.

The investigation is continuing, and more info will be released as available (per WYFF).

🚨SHOOTING INVESTIGATION🚨

Investigators with the GCSO are investigating a shooting that occurred at 1638 Piedmont Hwy. Greenville County communications received a 911 call around 4:45 a.m. regarding a female victim who arrived at the hospital after she was shot at least once during an altercation between separate parties at the incident location. The victim is expected to recover from her injuries.

This is an isolated incident. No suspects have been identified at this time, however this is an ongoing investigation. Investigators request that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers of Greenville at 23-CRIME.
