Book Signing June 7 Local Author – Gail Wells
Adults 2:00 – 5:00

Local published author, Gail Wells will be holding a book signing for her latest release, “The Valley Between Us” – Book Two, a historical fiction romance novel set in 1840s western New York State. If you love historical romance, suspense and murder mystery, this book series is for you! Come and meet Gail and learn about her writing process and the inspiration for her novels. Light refreshments will be served.

Please join us to explore the world of writing. Write the stories you’ve always wanted to write! Your stories. Every beginning writer starts out using other people’s voices. Find your own. Canvas of Greenville – South Street - Flip takes us on his memory trip of houses and business people of the roads leading into Greenville, this time South Street, aka Rt 32 South. Just Drop In!

Stained Glass – Heart July 14 Instructor – Connie Pruiksma
Young Adults (13) - Adults 6:30 – 8:30

The instructor will supply a variety of multi-colored parts for the project for participants to choose from. Each person will be able to foil their own piece. Once the pieces have been foiled students will solder their creations together. If anyone is uncomfortable soldering the instructor will do it for them. The instructor will also provide a brief history of stained glass. She will show where glass comes from, have a few examples of different textures and colors of glass and she’ll also bring stained glass books. Registration required

Lego Fun! July 14, 21, 28 Main Floor Library

Do you love to imagine and build? Do you enjoy the rush of satisfaction when you find the perfect piece in a pile of colorful plastic bricks? Do you love the satisfying snap of a well-placed Lego? Do you feel little pain when you step on a scattered Lego brick? If you answered yes to these questions then this program is meant for you! Bring your imagination, we’ll provide the Legos! Patriotic Paddle Boards July 15 Instructor - Carolyn Travers

Celebrate our 250th year anniversary with a patriotic paddle board to hang. Red, white and blue with accents of stars and stripes and more. Carolyn brings everything with her including chocolate to get the creative juices flowing! Registration required.

Create an ocean scene with rocks, sand & shells. Enjoy games, listen to stories and of course have some treats. Fun for all! Registration required.

Pop Out of the Frame Work! July 20 & 28 Instructor - Natalie Boburka Inspired by Frank Stella 6:00 – 8:00 Ages 12 - Adults Class composed of 2 2-hr. sessions

Let’s break out of the frame! These small pieces are active and jump off of the page. Are you ready to learn about an artist who loved speed, lived in NYS and owned and drove race cars and bred and owned winning race horses? Frank Stella created different series of art, but his abstract work that literally came off of the wall is what we’ll focus on. It’s full of energy and movement, just like Frank Stella’s passions! Using card stock, markers, and glue, we’ll create our own Stand Out Art! We’ll use movement, patterns, and space to form creative exciting works of art that represent an activity of your choosing! Registration required.

Create Rainbow Loom July 22 Instructors – Pearl & Avery

In this workshop, participants will learn how to make simple bracelets, necklaces, rings - no loom required. All materials included (colorful rubber bands, colored C-clips and charms). Registration required.

Tea Bag Painting July 22 Instructor – Ruby Silvious
Adults 6:00 – 8:00

Learn to paint in miniature, with a used tea bag as your canvas. In this workshop, led by multimedia artist Ruby Silvious, you will have a chance to practice your painting skills and express yourself through a unique medium. All materials will be provided. Registration required.

Refrigerator Magnet Collage July 23 Instructor - Natalie Boburka
Ages 12 - Adults 6:00 – 8:00

Come make interesting collage papers, and choose from an assortment of interesting handmade and reused materials to create miniature collages. We’ll back them with magnets so they’re ready to hang on the wall!! Collage is a great way to learn about composition. We’ll work together to create successful mini pieces of artwork that are “fridge worthy”! Registration required.

Teacup Bird Feeders July 27 Instructor - Carolyn Travers

Create a birdfeeder from a teacup to hang. Take your birdfeeder home, add some seeds and watch the birds visit your feeder. Enjoy games, listen to stories and of course have some treats. Fun for all! Registration required.

Create a blueprint for your house & build it with crackers & candy. The program includes stories, games, goodies to eat & drink and all craft supplies for a craft kids can take home. Registration required.

World of Animals July 29 Presenter – Bill Robinson
All Ages 6:00 Large Community Room

Wildlife educator Bill Robinson and his “World of Animals” show will be at the Greenville Library for a demonstration for all ages. This will be an opportunity to see amazing animals up close and learn how they live. Feeding behaviors will be discussed and demonstrated. A variety of birds of prey and reptiles will be included in the program. Learn about the importance of these birds and reptiles in the balance of nature, and how man has helped to restore endangered species such as the peregrine falcon. There will be a flight demonstration with either a hawk or an owl. Just Drop In!

American Flag - July 30 or August 6 Instructor – Genn Howley
Wooden Sign 7:00 – 8:30
Adults Pick One Date

Join Genn from GNH for a fun and creative evening. Each participant will create a 12" x 36" (roughly) wooden porch sign to take home and display. You will paint a patriotic American flag design on a versatile 3-foot leaner that will add a bright seasonal touch to your home. Genn will have all the supplies to customize your projects. The project will take 1 – 1 1/2 hours to complete, you will work at your own pace. Genn will provide step by step instructions and an example will be provided. Registration required.

The world of Sanrio (company) is all about friendship, and Hello Kitty wants to introduce you to her very best friends! Each of her friends will share something they love with you, with themed activities to match. Get to know her friends through these activities, and by the end, you will be one of Hello Kitty’s friends as well! Registration required.

Accordion Book August 3 Instructor – Ruby Silvious
Adults 6:00 – 8:00

Explore the unique structure of an accordion book and its creative possibilities for storytelling, collage, and other artistic expressions. Using a single piece of cardstock, participants will create multiple panels/pages by folding the strip into an accordion or zigzag shape, allowing for continuous, flowing compositions. Suitable for all skill levels. Participants are welcome to bring their own cut images, papers and ephemera. Cardstock and assorted printed papers, glue and scissors will be supplied. Still Life Painting August 4 Instructor – Alice Tunison

Unique and beautiful acrylic painting representative of the various still life arrangements that will be on view, for participants, throughout the community room space. Classes are introduced with history and background on the theme topic. Registration required.

Furry Friend Pick one Date

The library is hosting a Noah’s Ark Animal Workshop. We have chosen to “build” Rexy the Dinosaur and Pebbles the Dinosaur (Choose One). During the stuffed animal workshop, the kids’ stuff their own Furry Friend, then make a wish on a star before placing it inside their new friend! After naming our new friends we will complete a birth certificate and each child will also receive a tote bag to take their furry friend home. Registration required.

Abstract That! Geometric August 5 Instructor - Natalie Boburka Ages 12 – Adults 6:00 – 8:00

Many people aren’t sure how to approach abstract art, but here’s a fun way to learn about composition and create a successful abstract drawing. You’ll learn about the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design to guide you to arrange a piece of geometrically based art work. These will be small, bold, and impactful! What you learn will carry over into any art form! Registration required.

Beads, Beads, Beads, Galore! August 10 Instructor - Barbara Flach

Georgia O’Keeffe Inspired August 11 & 17 Instructor - Natalie Boburka
Florals in Color 6:00 – 8:00/9:00 Ages 12 – Adults Class composed of 2 2-3 hr. sessions

Get ready to immerse yourself in a colorful flower! In this class you’ll examine Georgia O’Keeffe’s colorful close ups of flower paintings as inspiration. You’ll choose your own individual photo of a flower (provided) to draw using a loose grid for accuracy. You’ll learn to draw the negative space and will then learn a way of applying the paint to form the basic color, value, texture, and shape of the parts of the flower. You’ll add the details using different ways of applying the paint for texture. Each person will end up with a small colorful jewel-like intimate painting. No experience necessary! Registration required.

Soap Making 101 August 13 Instructor – Shalisha

Nothing cleans, softens and moisturizes quite like homemade tallow soap. Come learn how to make your very own sudsy bars from just four simple ingredients. If you have a pair of safety glasses, please bring them. All other materials will be provided. Registration required. This class will be held outdoors.

Tea Bag Dress Book August 18 Instructor – Ruby Silvious

Using one sheet of letter-size paper, participants will create a book and embellish it with assorted images and dresses cut from used tea bags. All materials included. Registration required.

Come to the library and have some fun! It’s Climb Times massive 24’ rock wall has 4 sides and offers 20 different climbing routes, of varying difficulty, that can all be used at the same time. It’s great for all abilities and all ages. We’ll also have Face Painting! Just Drop In!

Acrylic Painting – Fruit Bowl August 19 Instructor – Alice Tunison
Ages 9 – Adults 6:00 – 8:00
Inspiration for these paintings will come from the beauty seen in the colors and shapes of various ceramic and wood bowls filled with fruit exhibited for study during the art class. Using acrylic paint on board we will render a compositional study of fresh fruits. First time painters and experienced artists are sure to enjoy this fun 'still life' class. Registration required.

Struggling Readers August 24 Presenter – Tracy Young Adults 5:30 – 7:00
Watching your child struggle to read is heartbreaking, but you are not alone. Join Tracy Young, an Orton Gillingham Educational Therapist and founder of The Literacy Keys, for a Greenville Library workshop explaining why some children struggle. Discover why some brains learn differently, and leave with hopeful, practical next steps. Open to parents with children 5 years old and up. Remember, it’s never too late to become a better reader.
