It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our own, Firefighter Joshua Gardo, who tragically left us on Sunday evening.
Though his time with us was far too short, Joshua served his community with courage and commitment. He was a young firefighter with a bright future, and his willingness to step into danger for the safety of others was a testament to both his character and his calling.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched. We ask the community to keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this painful time.
Joshua, thank you for your service. We will honor your memory by continuing the work you believed in.

Today, some of the DCFD personnel had the privilege and honor of visiting with young Isaac Wigington and his family. As Isaac continues his courageous battle, we, as his family, friends, and community, will stand steadfastly by his side. During today’s visit, we presented Isaac and the Wigington family with a special gift—a customized helmet with a shield just for Isaac. This helmet serves as a powerful symbol of our unwavering support for Isaac and his three family members who are currently employed at Donaldson Center Fire Department. We kindly request that you continue to express your love and support for the Wigington family.
