This week's Greenup County historical photo was taken from the book, "A Pictorial History of Greenup County, Kentucky" - Jack McNeely, compiler. The picture was courtesy of Lorene J. Hern. The caption states, "This Grist Mill on [the] Little Sandy River was close to the Argillite Bridge. It was built by James and George Hoop and ceased operation in the early 1900's. It eventually fell into the river. It was powered by a huge wheel and the force of the river waters." The book may be viewed in the Genealogy Room at the Greenup branch.
