This past week FFA members traveled to Decatur County Fairgrounds to teach younger students all about agriculture! One of our own students were able to bring his Sheep to teach the 5th graders about the different breeds and uses of sheep.
Students had a lot of fun leading the 5th graders around to the different stations.

Thank you Decatur County Soil and Water for hosting this amazing day and all those who came to present!

Happy Labor Day from the South Decatur FFA Chapter!
Today we honor the hard‑working individuals who keep our communities strong—from farmers and ag professionals to the families who support them. We’re grateful for the dedication that makes our chapter and our school thrive.

Here’s what this week will look like at South Decatur. Remember, both fundraisers are due next week! Please see Mrs Honnert or Miss Backus if you need more forms!
We will be having our September Chapter meeting on 09/16/26 at 7:15 am. Then we will resume having chapter meetings on the first Wednesday of every month. Please see an advisor if you have any questions!

South Decatur FFA has begun its popcorn fundraiser for the fall semester! We have 6 popular flavors to choose from, along with 2 different sampler packs from you to choose from if you can’t make up your mind! All forms and money are due to Mrs Honnert or Miss Backus no later than 09/16/26!!! This is to ensure delivery before Fall Break. Please see an advisor if you have any questions!

School is back in session! We hope you all had an amazing time during summer, but we are more than excited to have you back in school and ready for upcoming FFA events! Contests are quickly approaching, so make sure you stop in Miss Backus’s or Mrs Honnert’s room for more information about contests and FFA events here at South Decatur. Please make sure you also get FFA membership forms if you haven’t already for the 2026-2027 school year.
